We work in a hybrid mode 3+2, with a minimum of 3 days at the office (with mandatory Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and a maximum of 2 days at the home office.

The location of our office is Holandská 873/6, Brno – Štýřice, 639 00.

We employ only via an employment contract – full-time employment (HPP).

Role Overview  

We are looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Platform Engineering team at SolarWinds for the Observability Self-Hosted product . This role requires strong people leadership, technical judgment, and ownership of engineering execution. The team is responsible for building and improving reliable software solutions that help customers manage complex technology environments.  

Responsibilities  

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers through clear goals, regular feedback, and career development.  

• Guide the team's adoption of AI across the full development lifecycle, from AI-assisted coding to agent-driven, specification-first delivery.  

• Partner with product management and cross-functional stakeholders to plan and deliver high-quality software.  

• Provide technical guidance and support engineering decisions across design, development, testing, and delivery.  

• Drive predictable execution by managing priorities, dependencies, risks, and team capacity.  

• Promote engineering practices that improve software quality, security, reliability, and maintainability.  

• Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of team processes.  

• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, performance management, and building an inclusive team culture.  

Qualifications  

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or a related technical discipline.  

• 2+ years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams.  

• Experience delivering software products through the full development lifecycle.  

• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, AI-assisted development, Agile methodologies, and technical delivery.  

• Ability to provide effective technical guidance while empowering engineers to own solutions.  

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders.  

• Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
