Software Engineering Intern - Pipeline Value Observability (Brno, Czech Republic)
The Red Hat Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated student who can join us in the Brno office and who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products. In this role, you will work on observability solutions for the strategic Secure Software Supply Chain using which Red Hat delivers all our software to the customers, as part of a team of software engineers from different geographies. During the internship, you will get hands-on experience with different observability tools, and contribute to designing and implementing new solutions used by our internal teams such as Site Reliability Engineering, and also by our key user groups.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. This is a paid, part-time internship based in the Brno office, with flexible working hours. The expected start date is February 2027.
What you will do:
- Contribute to the development of components of observability solutions that support Red Hat to deliver software to our customers quickly and in a reliable way, with focus on Red Hat’s strategic secure software supply chain solution Konflux
- Assist in troubleshooting and improving existing observability solutions under the guidance of experienced engineers
- Support users of Red Hat’s Strategic Secure Software Supply Chain to troubleshoot issues with the platform
What you will bring:
- You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us part-time from February 2027 till January 2028
- Working knowledge of written and spoken English
- Experience in development in Python or Go
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub actions and Tekton Pipelines
- Basic understanding of observability concepts including metrics, logging and tracing.
- Interest in learning new technologies; problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants
- Familiarity in using the observability platforms like Grafana.
- Comfortable collaborating with engineers and stakeholders across geographically distributed and cross-functional teams
The following are considered a plus:
- Knowledge of containers and OpenShift or Kubernetes and cloud platforms
- Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
- Code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub
- Experience with coding assistants
- Understanding of observability frameworks, such as OpenTelemetry
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir and Prometheus.
- Interested in platform engineering, reliability or observability as a career path
