What is Big World Jobs?

A free job site that lists openings from employers' own career sites around the world and states, for each one, whether it is remote, hybrid or on-site and where it is.

Is it really free? Do I need an account?

Yes, and no. There is no sign-up, no paywall and no hidden salary. You read the listing here and apply on the employer's site.

How do I find jobs I can actually take?

Start with the country you live in or can work in, then pick remote, hybrid or on-site. A remote job labelled Anywhere is open worldwide; one labelled with a country is open to residents of that country; one that says location eligibility not specified means the employer did not say.

I live outside the United States. Which jobs can I apply to?

Any on-site or hybrid job in your country, any remote job labelled Anywhere, and any remote job that names your country. Use the country filter on the jobs page.

How do I apply?

Press View role and apply. It opens the employer's own page, where the application happens. We never receive or forward applications or resumes.

The employer did not reply. Can you help?

No. We have no relationship with the employer and no visibility into applications. Checking the role is still listed here is the one thing we can tell you: if it shows as closed, the employer took it down.

A job says remote but the description says otherwise. What should I do?

The label follows the employer's own field first, then the location line, then the text. If a listing is mislabelled, write to us with the link and it will be reviewed.

How do I tell if a listing is a scam?

Every listing here comes from the employer's own hiring system, which makes fake postings rare but not impossible. Never pay to apply, never share bank or identity documents before a signed offer, and be wary of a role that hires without an interview.

Why does a job show as no longer listed?

Because the employer's board stopped showing it on our last check. We do not close jobs by age, only by absence at the source.

Are the salaries estimates?

No. A salary appears only when the employer published one, in the employer's currency and unit. About one listing in ten has one.

Why are some listings in German or another language?

Because the employer wrote them that way. Non-English listings carry a language chip so you know before you click.

Can I get alerts by email?

Not yet. Every filtered list has its own address, so you can bookmark the search you care about. Alerts are planned.

Handpicked roles

What is a Handpicked role?

A role from a partner program that hires worldwide and pays by the hour or by the project, chosen because it is open to people in many countries. They are marked and grouped, never mixed in unlabelled.

Does Big World Jobs get paid for them?

Sometimes. A partner may pay us if a candidate they receive through us meets the program's conditions, for example being hired or completing a set number of hours. That never changes what you are paid or how you are selected.

Is applying to a Handpicked role different?

No. The link opens the program's own page and the application happens there, free.

For employers

How do I get my jobs listed?

If your careers page runs on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, Personio or Breezy, your roles are read automatically. If they are missing, write to us with the address of your board.

How do I correct or remove a listing?

Email [email protected] with the link. Corrections and removals are handled within two business days.

Do you charge employers?

Listing is free. Employers who need a screened freelancer fast, or want to employ someone in a country where they have no entity, can use the partners on our hiring page.

About the data

How often are listings checked?

Every import re-reads each employer's board, twice a day for most sources. A listing that disappears at the source is marked closed the same day.

What do remote, hybrid and on-site mean here?

Remote: the employer labelled the job remote or wrote a remote location. Hybrid: office days are part of the role. On-site: the employer wrote a place and nothing about remote work. Not specified: none of the above.

Can I use your numbers?

Yes. Live counts by country and field are at https://bigworldjobs.com/stats.json, with the date they were counted, and a plain-text summary is at https://bigworldjobs.com/llms.txt.
