As a Technical Solution Analyst within Zayo’s Solution Architecture organization, you’ll have the opportunity to build your technical expertise in telecommunications, networking, and customer solution design.
Working alongside experienced Solution Architects and Solution Engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting customer opportunities, creating network and service visualizations, developing technical documentation, and assisting with foundational network design. Through mentorship, collaboration, and practical experience, you’ll build your knowledge of Zayo’s network, products, services, and technologies while learning how technical solutions are developed to address real customer needs.
This role is well suited for someone who is technically curious, enjoys solving problems, communicates effectively, and is interested in building a career in telecommunications and solution engineering.

What You'll Do:
Solution Design & Technical Support
- Analyze customer requirements and help identify Zayo products and services that align with their technical and business needs.
- Create network diagrams, service visualizations, KMZ files, and other technical documentation to support customer solutions.
- Use GIS-based systems, previous solution designs, Zayo product knowledge, and customer requirements to evaluate and support unique requests.
- Partner with Solution Engineers to develop solutions that support current and future customer applications.
- Gather, organize, analyze, and present relevant technical and financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with foundational network design activities across fiber and data-networking solutions.
- Ensure technical documentation is complete and accurate for supported customer opportunities.
Sales & Proposal Support
- Partner with the Solution Architecture and Sales organizations to support customer opportunities throughout the solution-development process.
- Prepare technical diagrams, solution documentation, sales presentations, and other customer-facing materials.
- Assist with proposal responses and the development of cost-effective technical solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout transactional and standard custom solution opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Technical Operations, and other teams to help move customer opportunities toward successful completion.
Project Coordination & Development
- Establish, manage, and communicate timeline expectations for assigned requests and projects.
- Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders, including Sales, Engineering, and Technical Operations.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Develop knowledge of telecommunications, network engineering, Zayo products, and solution-design processes through hands-on learning and mentorship.
- Stay current on relevant industry and technology trends.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, collaboration, and accountability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience, education, training, or demonstrated interest in telecommunications, networking, engineering, technical support, technical sales, or a related field.
- Recommended: at least 2 years' experience in technical sales engineering/support role(s) within the telecommunications industry (ideally ISP, CLEC, ILEC, VAR, or MSO)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in learning how technology can be applied to solve customer needs.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A willingness to continuously learn and develop technical knowledge.
- Ability to work during Mountain Time business hours, regardless of geographic location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Previous experience in telecommunications, technical sales, sales engineering, networking, engineering support, or a related technical environment
- Familiarity with fiber-optic networks and network design concepts
- Exposure to Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 networking concepts
- Familiarity with networking technologies and services such as Ethernet, LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN, WDM, and internet connectivity
- Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Google Earth, ESRI, MyWorld/GE Smallworld, or other GIS/network-mapping platforms
- General understanding of fiber-optic network design and implementation
- Experience creating technical diagrams, visualizations, or customer-facing technical documentation
- Previous experience supporting technical sales, telecommunications, engineering, or customer solutions
- MAN technologies and structures (including DS-x, OC-x, WDM, and Ethernet)
- Data networking technologies, functionality, and services (LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN)
- High-level understanding of Fiber Optic network design and implementation
Estimated Base Pay Range: $24.76 - $26.70 USD/hour

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
