Associate Technical Analyst (Hybrid)
Under guidance from more experienced team members, the Associate Technical Analyst applies established practices and procedures to assist in translating business needs into technical specifications, contributing to projects and initiatives while developing knowledge of business processes, systems, and technologies.
You will report to a senior manager, engineering.
In this hybrid, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office in Madison, WI.

Primary Accountabilities
- Gather, document, and organize business and technical requirements throughout the application lifecycle.
- Supports the creation and maintenance of requirements documentation, process flows, user stories, functional specifications, and other analysis artifacts.
- Partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to clarify requirements and ensure a shared understanding of project objectives.
- Participates in design discussions, testing activities, code reviews, and other project delivery processes as appropriate.
- Assists in validating requirements and confirming solutions meet documented business needs.
- Supports analysis of existing business processes and identifies opportunities for process improvements, standardization, or reuse of existing functionality.
- Contributes to effort estimation and project planning activities by providing analysis support and documenting assumptions.
- Communicates project updates, requirements, and analysis results clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Adheres to organizational standards, methodologies, and architectural guidelines when supporting solution design and implementation.
- Develops knowledge of business operations, systems, technologies, and industry practices to effectively support business objectives.
- May be required to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Basic understanding of business analysis concepts, methodologies, and documentation techniques.
- Ability to gather, organize, and analyze information using established processes and procedures to solve standard business and technical problems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to document requirements accurately and clearly.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to exchange information, ask clarifying questions, and confirm understanding with stakeholders and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, business processes, and systems quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet established deadlines.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing processes, and systems analysis concepts.
- Basic knowledge of programming and scripting concepts, with the ability to read, understand, and modify simple scripts and queries used for automation, data extraction, testing, and system support activities.
- Basic data analysis skills, including the ability to collect, validate, analyze, and interpret data using tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar technologies to support business and technical decision-making.
- Ability to identify data trends, reconcile discrepancies, and communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while taking accountability for individual work products and deliverables.
- Applies general business knowledge gained through education, training, or prior experience to support project and operational objectives.
- Demonstrates adaptability, initiative, and willingness to accept feedback and new responsibilities as skills and experience develop.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business analysis tools as required.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelors in computer science or engineering strongly desired.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 10%.

- Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
