Solution Architect
Why SailPoint & Role Mission
At SailPoint, we empower the largest, most complex organizations in the world by putting identity at the center of security and IT. Our customers include global financial institutions, government entities, critical infrastructure operators, and pharmaceutical enterprises.
As a Solution Architect in our Japan Professional Services team, you will serve as the lead technical authority for designing, integrating, and deploying SailPoint’s identity governance solutions—spanning our on-premises enterprise platform (IdentityIQ) and our SaaS platform (Identity Security Cloud / Atlas) with a focus on our Cloud Solution.
In Japan, this role carries a strategic dual mission:
- Direct Technical Authority: Architecting robust, scalable identity governance frameworks for leading Japanese enterprises, ensuring optimal lifecycle management, RBAC/ABAC models, and regulatory compliance (including J-SOX).
- Partner Ecosystem Enablement: Guiding, upskilling, and governing certified Japanese System Integrators (SIs) and Global System Integrators (GSIs) to ensure co-delivered projects meet global architectural benchmarks.
Core Responsibilities & Allocation
Architectural Design & Deployment Leadership (40%)
- Lead effective technical requirement discovery sessions with Japanese enterprise stakeholders; translate complex business use cases into robust identity architecture, data schemas, and integration designs.
- Author comprehensive architecture blueprints: High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Data Mapping, and Integration Specifications.
- Design and implement complex integrations between SailPoint and target enterprise systems (Active Directory, LDAP, Entra ID, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Guide both core workflow/rule development (Java, BeanShell, SQL) and modern SaaS extension development (REST APIs, SCIM, TypeScript/NodeJS, Webhooks).
Delivery Governance & Enablement (25%)
- Educate and enable tier-1 Japanese implementation partners (such as CTC, NTT DATA, Hitachi Solutions , Fujitsu, and GSIs) on SailPoint deployment methodology, product architectures, and configuration best practices.
- Perform technical code reviews, design audits, and architecture sign-offs on partner-led or SailPoint-led customer implementations.
- Act as the senior technical escalation contact during critical project phases, proof-of-concept (PoC) transitions, and production cutovers.
Project Scoping & Delivery Assurance (20%)
- Collaborate with Engagement Managers, Project Managers and peer Solution Architects to define project scope, work breakdown structures (WBS), estimates, and technical risk mitigation plans.
- SIT planning based on requirements and HLD, and development of comprehensive test cases.
- Reviewing configurations and code created by consultants and implementers, and providing support for their technical growth.
- Steer user acceptance testing (UAT), performance tuning, security vulnerability remediation, and production cutover planning.
- Keep project technical scope deviations within defined tolerances ( ≤10% ≤10%).
Client Advisory & Cross-Functional Feedback (15%)
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for Japanese IT Directors, CISOs, and enterprise architects, translating identity governance principles (RBAC, SoD, least-privilege) into strategic roadmaps.
- Act as the voice of the Japanese customer to Global Product and Engineering teams, facilitate the localization of content, or advocating for localization features, character encoding standards, and regional cloud capabilities.
