Senior Tester

Job Summary

We are looking for a Mainframe Test Engineer – E1.2 with hands-on experience in testing mainframe applications, preferably within Banking/Financial Services environments. The role requires strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and SQL, with responsibility for functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing of mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to develop test scenarios and test cases.Perform functional, system, integration, regression and end-to-end testing of mainframe applications.Validate batch and online transactions involving COBOL, JCL, CICS and DB2.Perform backend/database validation using SQL.Execute test cases, analyze failures, log defects and perform defect retesting.Validate batch jobs, job outputs, files and database updates.Perform data validation across upstream and downstream systems.Work closely with developers, business analysts and other testing teams during defect resolution.Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide test execution/status reporting.

Skill Requirements

Strong Mainframe Testing experience.Hands-on knowledge of COBOL.Good understanding of JCL and batch processing.Experience testing CICS/front-end mainframe applications.Strong DB2 and SQL skills for backend validation.Good understanding of SDLC/STLC, defect lifecycle and test management processes.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
