SAP MM Consultant – Job Description

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP MM Consultant with strong expertise in procurement, inventory management, material master, and integration with other SAP modules. The candidate should have hands-on experience in SAP configuration, solution design, implementation, and production support, preferably in an SAP S/4HANA environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and support end-to-end SAP MM processes, including:
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
  • Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
  • RFQ and Source Determination
  • Inventory Management
  • Goods Receipt and Goods Issue
  • Material and Vendor/Business Partner Master
  • Invoice Verification
  • Subcontracting and Consignment
  • Stock Transfer and Transfer Posting
• Gather business requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
• Prepare functional specifications and work closely with ABAP/development teams.
• Handle configuration, testing, defect resolution, and production support.
• Support data migration, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot complex SAP MM functional and integration issues.
• Work with business stakeholders and cross-functional SAP teams.
• Support integration of MM with SAP FI/CO, SD, PP, QM, and EWM/WM.
• Prepare functional documentation, test scenarios, user guides, and configuration documents.
• Participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, and post-go-live support.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP MM.
• Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay and Inventory Management processes.
• Good knowledge of purchasing, release strategies/workflows, valuation, account determination, and invoice verification.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong knowledge of integration between MM and FI/CO, SD, PP, and warehouse processes.
• Experience in SAP implementation, rollout, enhancement, or support projects.
• Ability to prepare functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Profile

A hands-on SAP MM professional who can independently manage functional requirements, configuration, testing, integration, and business discussions while collaborating effectively with technical and cross-functional SAP teams.

Skill Requirements

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP Fiori applications related to procurement and inventory.
• Knowledge of Business Partner concepts in S/4HANA.
• Exposure to SAP Ariba, EWM, or Central Procurement is advantageous.
• Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, energy, or supply-chain environments.
• SAP S/4HANA certification is an added advantage.
