Research Engineer - CI/CD with Yocto

The Role Mandate

Develop and improve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and system integration workflows for scalable webOS-based embedded platforms. The role delivers measurable improvements in build efficiency, image size, platform reliability, runtime performance, and resource usage while solving complex integration issues across BSP, platform domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize system image size and build time, targeting measurable improvement through analysis, automation, and build-system refinement.
• Develop and maintain Yocto metadata, layers, recipes, configurations, and reusable integration components.
• Implement BSP-independent solutions that support multiple SoCs, reference boards, and product configurations.
• Build, operate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for build, integration, validation, and platform migration workflows.
• Create Python and Bash/Shell automation for build modules, diagnostics, reporting, packaging, and integration tasks.
• Perform BSP bring-up and troubleshoot compilation, linking, boot, dependency, packaging, and runtime integration issues.
• Debug embedded Linux graphics and media issues, including rendering, playback, and hardware acceleration paths.
• Collaborate with team leaders, architects, platform teams, BSP teams, product teams, and global engineering partners.
• Contribute technical documentation, code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement activities.

Mandatory Skills and Experience͏

• 4–10 years of experience in embedded Linux, Yocto systems, CI/CD, BSP, or system integration.
• Strong experience in Python, Shell scripting, Git, and embedded product development.
• Hands-on experience in build automation, platform integration, debugging, and performance or resource optimization.

Preferred / Good to Have͏

•  Experience on embedded platforms such as TV, set-top box, automotive or similar products.

•  Exposure to graphics or media-stack integration and troubleshooting on embedded Linux.

Educational Qualification͏

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
