Manulife: Actuarial Internship Program 2027 (6.5 months)

As an Actuarial Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting actuarial initiatives across pricing, valuation, business performance analysis, retirement solutions, and risk management. Working alongside experienced actuarial professionals, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that influence business strategy and financial decision-making while developing strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Position Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with various departments to support product pricing, conduct experience studies, analyze business strategies, and prepare special quotations for life and health businesses.
  • Participate in actuarial valuation activities and gain practical exposure to evolving financial reporting requirements and actuarial methodologies.
  • Perform business performance analysis and prepare insights and reports to support actuarial oversight functions within the regional office.
  • Support the pricing of new and existing retirement and pension products, contributing to business growth and profitability objectives.
  • Assist in preparing financial analyses and management reports for business and actuarial leadership teams.
  • Conduct data analysis, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of actuarial models and outputs.
  • Support risk management initiatives by implementing risk controls, monitoring key risk indicators, and highlighting emerging risks to management.


Required Qualifications


  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in actuarial work and the insurance industry.
  • Positive learning attitude with the ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge of statistical software, actuarial tools, or programming languages such as Excel VBA, SQL, R, Python, or SAS is an asset.
  • Progress toward professional actuarial examinations or relevant academic projects is considered an advantage.

Internship Period:


We are recruiting for the following internship periods:

  • H1 2027 Intake: January 2027 – July 2027
  • H2 2027 Intake: July 2027 – January 2028
