Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis, with a primary focus on our In-Room Dining operation.

In this role, you will take responsibility for preparing and delivering high-quality dishes for guests dining in the comfort of their rooms. You'll play an important part in ensuring every order meets our standards for quality, presentation and consistency, while working closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

While In-Room Dining will be your primary focus, you'll also have the opportunity to work across other areas of the kitchen, including our restaurant and Conference & Events as your skills and interests develop.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and delivering high-quality In-Room Dining dishes in line with hotel recipes and presentation standards.
  • Taking ownership of your section, ensuring mise en place is completed and service is organised and efficient.
  • Maintaining consistency in food quality, flavour and presentation across every order.
  • Working closely with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and seamless service.
  • Assisting across other kitchen sections and outlets as required, including breakfast and restaurant operations.
  • Supporting preparation and service for Conference & Events and banqueting when required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked workstation.
  • Assisting with stock rotation, food storage, ordering and minimising food waste.
  • Following food safety, hygiene, allergen management and workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Contributing to a positive kitchen culture and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Bringing ideas, initiative and a willingness to learn to the wider kitchen operation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a hotel or premium hospitality environment.
  • A relevant commercial cookery qualification.
  • A genuine passion for food and pride in producing quality dishes.
  • Good understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation and service standards.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and flexibility to work across different kitchen sections.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
