Job Description

Are you an experienced Wintel System Engineer with a passion for Microsoft infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments? Do you enjoy taking technical ownership, solving complex infrastructure challenges and helping customers modernize their IT environments?

At Inetum, we're looking for a hands-on Wintel System Engineer to strengthen our infrastructure expertise and support our customers in transforming and optimizing their Microsoft environments.

In this role, you'll work on challenging infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on Windows Server technologies, Active Directory, SQL Server platforms and hybrid cloud environments.

You'll be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from technical analysis and planning to implementation, migration, validation and documentation.

Your key responsibilities:

• Design, implement, maintain and optimize Microsoft-based infrastructure environments.

• Lead and execute end-to-end server migrations, including Windows Server upgrades and infrastructure modernization projects.

• Manage and migrate Active Directory environments, including domain migrations, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and authentication services.

• Implement and support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including platform upgrades, Always On Availability Groups and Windows Failover Clustering.

• Perform application and file server migrations, ensuring business continuity and minimal downtime.

• Work with hybrid infrastructure environments, combining on-premises Microsoft technologies with cloud-based solutions.

• Prepare and execute migration strategies, including cutover planning, rollback scenarios and post-migration validation.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide sustainable technical solutions.

• Collaborate directly with customers, understand their technical requirements and take ownership of project delivery.

• Deliver clear technical documentation, as-built documentation and knowledge transfer to operational teams.

You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking responsibility for your projects while collaborating with specialized experts whenever specific technical challenges require additional expertise.

Qualifications

Do you have a strong technical background in Microsoft infrastructure and several years of hands-on experience?

Your technical expertise includes:

• Windows Server: Extensive experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and preferably 2025.

• Active Directory: Strong knowledge of AD DS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects (GPO) and FSMO roles.

• Security & Authentication: Understanding of Kerberos, service accounts, authentication mechanisms and Microsoft PKI / Certificate Services.

• SQL Server: Experience with SQL Server 2019/2022, Always On Availability Groups and SQL platform migrations.

• High Availability: Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering and business-critical infrastructure environments.

• Microsoft Infrastructure Services: Experience with IIS, File Services, DFS, NTFS permissions, Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and RemoteApp.

• Virtualization: Operational knowledge of VMware vSphere.

• Hybrid Cloud: Good understanding of hybrid Microsoft infrastructure environments and their integration with cloud technologies.

• Migration Projects: Proven experience with end-to-end server, domain, application and file server migrations.

• Project Delivery: Experience with migration planning, cutover execution, rollback strategies, technical validation and documentation.

• An experienced Wintel Engineer with approximately 5–10+ years of relevant experience?

• A hands-on technical expert who enjoys taking ownership from start to finish?

• Comfortable independently managing complex infrastructure migrations?

• Strong in troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem-solving?

• Someone who combines technical expertise with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset?

• A clear communicator who enjoys working directly with customers and technical stakeholders?

• Structured in your approach, with attention to documentation, knowledge sharing and quality?

• A team player who knows when to involve specialized expertise?

• Fluent in Dutch and English, with French as an additional asset?
