Pay Range
$81,900.00-$112,600.00 AnnualThis is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Technical Roofing Specialist (Guarantee & Systems)Johns Manville – Roofing Systems Division
The Technical Specialist provides timely, high-quality technical support to customers using Johns Manville roofing products and systems. This role evaluates project-specific roofing conditions, determines eligibility for guarantees, verifies compliance with applicable requirements, and recommends sound technical solutions. The position regularly addresses complex situations that may require approved deviations from or modifications to published specifications.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Respond accurately and promptly to technical and guarantee-related inquiries.
- Interpret wind-uplift design requirements and perform calculations in accordance with ASCE 7.
- Evaluate unique roofing conditions and recommend practical best practices and technical solutions.
- Review guarantee applications and determine eligibility based on applicable requirements.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of single-ply and bituminous roofing systems and associated components.
- Review and interpret construction documents, with particular emphasis on roofing systems.
What You Bring the the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred, with five (5) years of technical experience in low-slope roofing.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, candidates may qualify with an associate degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED and nine (9) years of relevant experience.
- Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) credential preferred.
- Five years of experience in customer-focused business interactions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of roofing practices and systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the commercial construction process and the roles of involved parties.
- Strong understanding of legal considerations related to roofing and construction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Results-oriented approach, with the ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with appropriate urgency.
Work Environment
This position primarily operates in a professional office environment.
