Role Summary
We are seeking an accomplished Project Director to own the end-to-end delivery of large-scale Temenos Core Banking implementation, upgrade and migration programmes across the Temenos product suite. The role holds accountability for delivery strategy, programme governance, commercials and P&L, risk, and executive stakeholder relationships across multiple workstreams and geographies. Operating at C-suite and steering-committee level, the Project Director sets up and leads the delivery governance framework, orchestrates a blended onsite/offshore team of Temenos architects, functional consultants, developers, QA and DevOps specialists, and drives a controlled, compliant and on-time transformation from mobilisation through go-live and hypercare – while safeguarding quality, benefits realisation and long-term client partnership.

•
Own the programme vision, roadmap, delivery strategy and integrated plan for Temenos implementations – spanning core, channels, payments and ecosystem integrations.
•
Lead the end-to-end delivery lifecycle – gap analysis, solution design, configuration, custom development, data migration, testing, cutover, go-live and post-go-live stabilisation – through the Mobilize, Deliver and Transition phases.
•
Establish and chair the delivery governance framework – steering committees, programme boards, RAID management, dependency resolution, go-live readiness and executive decision-making.
•
Own commercials, P&L and benefits realisation – managing budgets, forecasts, revenue, margin and value delivery across the programme.
•
Act as the primary point of contact for the bank’s C-level executives, business leaders, regulators and the Temenos / partner ecosystem.
•
Apply Temenos Implementation Methodology (TIM) and quality standards / stage-gates rigorously, keeping delivery client-led and upgrade-safe.
•
Direct and mentor project managers and workstream leads; define the RACI across bank, Temenos, system integrators and partners.
•
Proactively manage programme risk, escalation and change control, ensuring early identification and resolution of issues before they impact delivery.
•
Oversee data migration and regulatory connectivity risk – migration rehearsals, reconciliation of balances/positions/GL, and audit-ready reporting for the bank and its regulators.

Govern quality and delivery health – test governance (SIT/UAT), automation/accelerator adoption, DevOps ways of working and SLA/performance monitoring.
•
Define the transition, hypercare and knowledge-transfer plan, leaving the bank’s teams self-sufficient at handover, and support presales / RFP shaping and feasibility of contractual commitments.
Temenos Product Coverage
The role requires delivery command across the Temenos product suite, including:
•
Temenos Transact (T24) core – Customer/CIF, Accounts, Deposits, Arrangement Architecture (AA), Lending, FX, Treasury, Trade Finance, Financial Accounting/GL and End-of-Day (COB).
•
Temenos Payments Hub (TPH) – SWIFT, SEPA/instant, RTGS, ACH and cross-border, nostro/vostro and ISO 20022.
•
Temenos Infinity / Digital – digital and omnichannel banking, onboarding and channels.
•
Temenos FCM – sanctions/PEP/AML screening, transaction monitoring and fraud, plus regulatory reporting and analytics.
•
Platform & delivery enablers – TAFJ/TAFC, IRIS/Integration Framework, cloud (Temenos Banking Cloud / SaaS), DevOps/CD and data migration (DMS/TDE).

Skill Requirements

Required Skills & Experience
•
18+ years in IT/core banking delivery, with 10+ years on Temenos (T24/Transact) programmes and 5+ years as Project/Programme Director.
•
Proven track record directing multi-million, multi-year Temenos core banking transformations, upgrades or migrations end-to-end.
•
Experience across multi-business-line banks – Retail, Corporate, Islamic, Wealth – and regulator-facing, audit-heavy environments.
•
Strong commercial acumen – P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, estimation and benefits realisation.
•
Demonstrated success managing Tier-1 vendor ecosystems (Temenos, SIs, partners) and blended onsite/offshore delivery teams across geographies.
•
Deep knowledge of Temenos Implementation Methodology (TIM), model bank and implementation strategies (Big Bang, Build & Renovate, Continuous Renovation).
•
Expertise in programme governance, RAID/risk management, stage-gate quality assurance and executive/steering-committee reporting.
•
Fluency in Agile/SAFe, Scrum, Waterfall and hybrid delivery, and modern DevOps/CD ways of working.
•
Exceptional executive stakeholder management, conflict resolution, leadership and communication skills.
Good to Have
•
Certification in SAFe, PMP, PRINCE2 / MSP and/or Temenos Project Management certification.
•
Experience of data migration and regulatory connectivity in specific markets (e.g. KSA – SARIE, SIMAH, ZATCA; EU – ISO 20022 / T2).
•
Exposure to cloud migration and PaaS/SaaS delivery models for regional banking markets.
•
Experience establishing Centres of Excellence (CoE), GCCs and test/automation practices.
•
Track record of long-term managed-services / post-go-live partnership beyond implementation.

Other Requirements

Qualifications
•
University degree in Technology, Engineering, Management or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent preferred.
•
Relevant programme management and Temenos certifications will be a strong advantage.
