Shopify Technical Project Lead (Argentina)About the Role
We are currently looking for a bilingual (Spanish & English-speaking) tech whizz based in Buenos Aires who is keen to champion technology and lead high-profile e-commerce projects at our production paradise. In this role, you will act as the lead developer and technical coordinator for massive, multi-region e-commerce operations. While you will initially act as the core technical point of contact and hands-on lead developer, this role is designed for stellar growth: providing you with the runway to scale and eventually manage your own development team.
If you are a strategic thinker, a hands-on builder, and an inclusive leader ready to make a global impact, this is your launchpad.
Responsibilities:
-
Spearhead Global Operations: Lead critical run-and-maintain projects for major global brands, expertly intaking technical requirements, coordinating tasks, and ensuring operational stability across dozens of regional sites.
-
Broaden the Digital Spectrum: Navigate, maintain, and advise on WordPress platforms and other general CMS architectures, venturing far beyond Shopify alone.
-
Drive Technical Excellence: Assess the technical feasibility of functional enhancements, security remediations, and complex e-commerce integrations, ensuring they are perfectly primed for smooth execution.
-
Safeguard High-Stakes Projects: Oversee and guarantee code quality, access administration, DevOps deployments, and the setup of high-stakes promotional campaigns.
-
Guide and Advise: Act as a trusted technical advisor to both internal teams and prestigious clients, ensuring a seamless operational bridge during large-scale platform migrations and strategic tech shifts.
About You
The essentials:
-
Experience & Location: You are based in Buenos Aires and bring solid, proven experience in a similar capacity at a highly international level.
-
Language Skills: Full bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English is required to seamlessly connect with our global teams and clients.
-
Shopify Mastery: Deep, hands-on expertise in Shopify architecture, theme development, and Liquid.
-
CMS Versatility: Strong functional knowledge of WordPress and general CMS development and architecture.
-
Full-Stack Fluency: A balanced, comprehensive understanding of both Frontend and Backend development to efficiently troubleshoot, coordinate, and execute across the entire tech stack.
-
Project Orchestration: A proven track record of coordinating complex projects, intaking requirements from diverse stakeholders, and translating them into actionable, clear development tasks.
-
Stellar Communication: You are a strong, crystal-clear communicator who excels at stakeholder contact. You can easily translate complex technical matters into clear-cut, understandable concepts, provide timely updates, flag issues, and document run-and-maintain processes.
-
Enterprise-Level Scale: Proven proficiency with high-performance, enterprise-level solutions designed to handle millions of visitors and complex multi-region localization.
-
Technical Documentation: The ability to compile and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to instruct development teams and manage smooth project transitions.
Not a Must but a Plus:
-
Familiarity with the Adobe ecosystem, particularly Adobe Edge Services, Adobe Commerce (Magento), and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), as future projects may transition toward these platforms.
-
Experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise-level e-commerce integrations (such as Klaviyo, Yotpo, Ordergroove, OneTrust, Bazaarvoice, and Cloudflare).
-
Solid knowledge of SEO implementations, GA4/GTM analytics setups, and data compliance workflows (e.g., DSAR handling).
-
Working knowledge or basics of AWS, DevOps, CDNs, React, Vue, Node.js, and PHP.
