Supervises staff accountant and/or senior accountant on essential job duties.  Provides technical support to the accounting team as first point of contact on accounting issues.  Assists in the preparation and review of the accounting close and related reporting deliverables.  Provides training for new and existing accounting team members, including related documentation of work procedures and BPNCA divisional accounting policies.

• Undertakes all necessary measures to achieve departmental business objectives, in full compliance with existing procedures and rules, as well as quality, occupational safety, and environmental protection standards
• Manages and coordinates daily accounting activities
• Leads a team of financial assistants; manages, develops, and motivates the team, continuously enhancing their skills and supporting HR management measures
• Works with other plant functions (eg, human resources), as well as with central departments, regarding items affecting financial statements
• Local balance sheet ownership, including monitoring of debtors and creditors, as well as cash flow management (ensuring supplier payments and customer collections are executed in line with local legislation, Company policies, and contractual obligations)
• Acts as first accounting point of contact for technical accounting issues
• Work closely with Global Business Services for optimal delivery of AP, AR, PPE etc. services
• Prepares and reports on cash flow movements for weekly, monthly, and annual cash control purposes, including related reporting.
• Leads financial accounting and statutory year-end reporting in line with local requirements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in cooperation with external auditors
• Monitoring of all relevant changes in laws and tax regulations
• Coordinates the preparation of local tax reporting and tax audits
• Assists in tax planning
• Local VAT compliance
• Statistical reporting for local legal entities
• Ensures implementation of Group accounting policies and procedures, accuracy of business accounting records, and integrity of accounting systems
• Continuously improves, tests, and enforces internal business controls, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements (legal compliance, audits, business controls, etc.)
• Develops own professional skills and competencies
• Ensures compliance with legal regulations, company policies and procedures
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives as aligned with leadership to standardize or automate process steps, harmonize data, identify and support the implementation of tools to improve accuracy and efficiency, reduce process costs and maximize investment returns
• Provides proposals and participates in projects aimed at continuous process improvement (Business Excellence)

• Broad training in accounting acquired through a college, or graduate level accounting degree
• Job related experience for 5 years minimum
• CPA certification hughly desirable 
• Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard finance techniques, procedures and criteria
• Working knowledge of the following areas: advanced accounting principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; cost accounting, JDE or other relevant ERP systems, Essbase, computer spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing (MS Word) programs
• US GAAP and accounting practices within a US business environment highly desirable

Work Environment: This position requires on-site work at our plant in Plzeň.​
Salary Range: 802 500 – 1 150 000 CZK gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as in accordance with internal salary policies and the current labor market situation. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the stated range.​
Incentive Program: This position is eligible for Ball’s annual incentive program.​
