Summary:
The Structures Mechanic will perform maintenance, repair, modification, and inspection of aircraft structures and systems to ensure airworthiness, safety, and compliance with manufacturer specifications and FAA-approved data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures
Ensure aircraft are ready for flight and in safe operating condition
Must be able to interpret complex schematics, engineering drawings and technical instructions.
Assess material requirements and tools/equipment needed to perform job.
Ability to use a variation of fabrication tools and precision measuring instruments to make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
Familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations, operational procedures, and industry standards
Regularly updates technical and aeronautical expertise through training, self-study, and operational experience
Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures
Responsible for personal and company tool accountability to include reporting unserviceable tools and equipment
Fabricate, assemble, and repair sheet metal products and equipment in accordance with Aircraft AMM, SRM, drawings, and specifications.
Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards
Comply with all safety, environmental security, and housekeeping standards
Comply with all training requirements
Ability to operate special purpose and regular vehicles as authorized
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid FAA Airframe (A) license required
Minimum Qualifications;
Minimum of 4 Years recent experience in aircraft structural repairs and modifications.
Valid driver's license required
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Knowledgeable and experienced using computers and aircraft software
Must be able to successfully pass background check
Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and active-employment drug screenings
Currently possess or able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance, or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Inspection Authorization (IA)
Airborne ISR Mission Systems experience
Familiar with DCMA 8210 and FGOP
Experience with Cessna 337 Skymaster
Work Environment
FAR Part 91 aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment
Availability during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (Mission dependent)
Travel
Some travel is required (Mission dependent)
