Sr. Manager, Accounting

We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Accounting to join our fast growing Finance organization. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a balance of strong technical accounting expertise and operational execution, ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex technical accounting areas including equity, intangibles and goodwill, leases, and fixed assets, overseeing key reporting and tax deliverables, and leading and developing a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee monthly allocations and software capitalization processes, ensuring accuracy, proper support, and compliance with policy.

    • Serve as the primary reviewer during the monthly close for the trial balance and financial statements, booking and reviewing adjusting entries and coordinating with the accounting team when adjustments need to be made.

    • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on equity accounting, partnering with external vendors on 409A valuations, stock-based compensation, and deferred fulfillment matters.

    • Manage technical accounting for intangible assets and goodwill, leases, and fixed assets, including impairment analysis, standards compliance, and asset tracking, and serve as a technical accounting resource by updating and creating accounting memos.

    • Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations among the parent company and subsidiaries

    • Lead the transition and sunsetting of legacy systems and processes from newly acquired entities into our accounting systems, supporting due diligence and integration for future M&A activity as the company continues to grow.

      • Partner with the business and FP&A to prepare and deliver commentary supporting monthly and quarterly financial statements, including materials presented to the Audit Committee, and address management reporting questions raised by investors and leadership.

      • Partner with the Sr. Director of Tax on income tax data requests, calculate and ensure compliance with state sales tax laws, and manage business tax filings with state and local authorities.

      • Serve as the accounting team's system expert for Workday, supporting configuration, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

      • Assist with the annual audit, including preparing annual financial statements and updating related disclosures.

      • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as FP&A, Tax, Legal, IT Systems, and Engineering.

      • Serve as the accounting team AI champion. Expected to drive process efficiencies in own work and share best practices with the accounting team.

      • Build a high performing and motivated team and help create career development opportunities, providing leadership and structure for the team to excel as the company continues to scale.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

    • Big 4 experience and CPA strongly preferred.

    • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.

    • Experience with Workday/Looker/Microsoft Suite/GSuite or other large ERP

    • Demonstrated experience in a public company environment, including readiness for and participation in an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

    • Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly related to complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills including active listening and the ability to articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences

    • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize competing projects, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines

    • Possesses high emotional intelligence and is able to build and maintain relationships at various levels, both within and outside of the finance department.

    • Proven record of mentoring and developing talent.

    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with a high level of integrity and professionalism

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

    • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment.

    • Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.

    • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.

    • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.

    • Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.

    • Travel, as needed.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $147,940 - $198,984 per year in the United States. This posted range reflects the portion of our internal salary band that is currently funded for new hires in this role across our standard labor markets ( Zones A–C ). 

For context, these markets include Zone A (e.g., Phoenix AZ, San Antonio TX, Columbus OH, Charlotte NC), Zone B (e.g., Chicago IL, Denver CO, San Diego CA, Houston TX), and Zone C (e.g., Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA, Washington, D.C., Boston MA). At this time, we are not budgeting for hires in higher-cost Zone D markets (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area CA, New York City NY, San Jose CA) for this role. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location, skills, experience, and internal equity. We use structured salary bands and geographic zones based on cost of labor to keep pay fair and consistent.
