Position Overview

The Senior Director, Clinical Research Operations is responsible for scaling and leading the operating model that allows N-Power to run clinical research efficiently across a growing network of oncology practices. This newly created role will be accountable for the clinical research staff organization embedded at network practices and the clinical operations function responsible for study start-up, regulatory, and trial conduct. 

The Senior Director will set the organizational design, operating model, and performance standards that drive scalability, staffing, capacity planning, and training infrastructure.

This is a remote role.

Role Objectives and Responsibilities

Operating Model, Performance Management and Research Operations Scale-up

• Responsible for executing a long-term operating model for clinical research across the N-Power network, anticipating the organizational, process, and resourcing needs of a rapidly expanding network 

• Develop a scalable site activation and research integration approach that allows new practices to be brought onto the network quickly, consistently, and cost-effectively

• Identify standardization, centralization, and technology enablement to reduce per-site operational burden and improve productivity.

• Own the performance and reporting framework that gives executive leadership clear visibility into network research performance, risks, and investment needs.

Organizational Leadership & Execution

• Build and lead a multi-layer organization spanning the distributed clinical research field team and clinical operations 

• Design the organizational structure, roles, career paths, and management cadence needed to sustain quality and engagement as the team scales across geographies

• Establish the training, onboarding, and development infrastructure that allows the function to grow while maintaining consistent standards of practice

• Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and mission alignment, ensuring onsite teams are equipped to represent N-Power's value proposition to practices and physicians

• Drive improvements in operational efficiency and unit economics as the network grows

• Serve as an escalation point for site-level relationship risks and support rollout of new initiatives or workflow changes across the network

• Partner closely with Network Operations leadership and other cross-functional teams to align CRS and Clinical Operations priorities with broader network strategy

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Education, Experience, Behavioral Competencies, & Skills

• 10+ years of experience in clinical research operations, including direct, hands-on oncology clinical trial experience 

• Proven success leading and managing a multi-layer, distributed, research workforce at scale

• Strong understanding of oncology practice workflows, including academic/community research and practice administration

• Demonstrated ability to build repeatable playbooks, SOPs, and processes as teams and programs grow

• Track record of driving operational efficiency through process standardization, centralization, and technology adoption

• Experience building staffing models, capacity plans, and KPI/reporting frameworks 

• Experience designing training and development infrastructure for a distributed clinical workforce

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, clinical teams, and technical experts alike

• Collaborative, hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments; generous, curious, and humble

Preferred

• Familiarity with CTMS, EDC, or similar clinical trial systems as they relate to site-level workflow

Travel Requirements

Travel expected on an as-needed basis to support regional teams. Up to 25%

Pay Information

The expected salary range for this position is $215K-230K. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. N-Power Medicine (NPM) offers equity at hire as well as a discretionary annual bonus which may be available based on Company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits.
