About the role

We're looking for a strong Software Engineer whose core strength is writing excellent, production-grade code. You will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and monitoring our high-scale live Python microservices in production. You will also collaborate closely with our data scientists, helping them ship code that's readable, maintainable, and built to last.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-scale Python microservices and their infrastructure.
• Deploy robust code to production and take full ownership of maintaining live services at high scale.
• Integrate complex logic into our production systems, working closely with the engineering, devops, and data science teams.
• Own the data infrastructure and tooling our systems rely on, and shape unstructured data into a form ready for analysis.
• Help data scientists write readable, maintainable code, and raise software engineering standards across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Extensive hands-on experience developing Python microservices.
• Proven track record of deploying to production and maintaining live services at high scale.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID, clean code, and architecture.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or another STEM field.
• Experience with AWS (concretely EKS).
• Driven and result-oriented.
• A solid track record of execution, with strong attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Previous hands-on experience in the ML domain or a solid grasp of core ML concepts.
• Experience building services and tools that track the ML lifecycle and optimize ML workloads.
• Experience integrating MLOps tooling experiment trackers, data versioning, and practices such as CI/CD/CT.
• Working knowledge of data cleaning and wrangling, and the right tools for the job.
• Ops experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
