Shipper/Receiver Night Shift

Overview  

The Shipper/Receiver   is responsible for   accurately and efficiently managing all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure smooth operations. This role plays a critical part in supporting other business functions by   maintaining   precision and timeliness in the shipping and receiving process.  

Roles & Responsibilities  
  • Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars ,   and lifting devices.  

  • Put away received materials to proper storage locations .  

  • Process all required paperwork and   maintain   adequate records in Sage for reporting and tracking.  

  • Maintain filing of shipping documents.  

  • Prepare and schedule shipments a nd   daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers.  

  • Oversee the secure and   accurate   loading and unloading of deliveries.  

  • Perform forklift circle checks and   routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment .  

  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.  

  • Sort and distribute incoming shipments to applicable departments.  

  • Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off   and r eport discrepancies to immediate supervisor.  

  • Ensure that shipments   contain   proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.  

  • Problem - solve for any causes of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.  

  • Perform all duties   in accordance with   S ilent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.  

  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

  Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities  

  • Demonstrated ability to   operate   material handling equipment including forklift   truck .  

  • Online shipping, tracking ,   and receiving experience   utilizing   FedEx, UPS,   Purolator   and DHL.  

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry   preferred .  

  • Min imum of two   years’   w orking experience in shipping and receiving   role   is   required .  

  • Ab ility   to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing .  

  • Basic mathematical skills.  

  • Ab ility   to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.  

  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.   

  • Dependable,   with   good organizational, time   management   and prioritizing skills.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Excel .  

Working Conditions  
  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.  

  • Manual dexterity   required   to use desktop   computer   and peripherals.  

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).  

  • Employee   may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings such as cold or hot weather outdoors; may have combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting throughout the day.  

  • Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.  

  • Fast-paced environment.  

  • Overtime as   required .
