Senior Technical Specialist - Python, Oracle PL/SQL, Java

Job Summary

Lead the design, development, and optimization of Murex Datamart solutions (MDCS/RTBS), enabling high-performance reporting, risk analytics, and regulatory data delivery. The role requires strong Java development expertise along with deep Murex technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of Murex Datamart solutions (MDCS, RTBS)
• Design data models, feeders, and reporting pipelines
• Optimize data extraction, transformation, and performance
• Develop and maintain Java-based integration components
• Work on end-to-end data lifecycle for risk & reporting
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Finance stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into technical designs
• Support SIT/UAT, production releases, and issue resolution
• Provide L3 support and resolve complex production issues

Skill Requirements

Murex Expertise

• Strong experience in Murex MX.3 platform
• Hands-on with Datamart (MDCS, RTBS)
• Experience in simulation views, reporting, workflows
• Good understanding of trade lifecycle and data flows

Programming & Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java (mandatory)
• Solid experience in SQL / Oracle databases
• Experience in ETL and data processing frameworks
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments

Integration & Tools

• Exposure to MxML, APIs, messaging systems (JMS/Kafka)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins) – preferred

Domain Knowledge:

• Understanding of Capital Markets (FX, Rates, Derivatives, Fixed Income)
• Knowledge of risk metrics (VaR, sensitivities, PFE)
• Familiarity with trade lifecycle & settlement processes

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Lead small to medium development teams
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to work in high-pressure delivery environments

Other Requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in large-scale Murex implementations/upgrades
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Basel III, FRTB)
• Murex certification (good to have)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering, Finance, or related field
• Murex certifications (preferred)
• Proven experience in tier-1 global banking environment
