Senior TA Analyst

On-site Bengaluru, India

Are you a technical accounting professional with a passion for financial precision and a knack for navigating complex reinsurance ecosystems? If you thrive at the intersection of data, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration — and you're ready to make a real impact in a global reinsurance leader — this is the role for you. Join our Technical Accounting team in Bangalore and bring your end-to-end expertise to a team that keeps the financial engine running smoothly across the globe!

About the Role

As a Senior TA Analyst, you will own the full lifecycle of technical accounting — from contract validation and premium reconciliation through to claims settlement and financial reporting. You'll be a trusted expert and go-to resource for resolving complex accounting challenges, driving process improvements, and delivering meaningful financial insights to stakeholders across geographies. This is not just a numbers role — it's a strategic position where your analytical acumen and relationship-building skills will shape the quality and integrity of our global financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Technical Accounting: Manage the complete technical accounting lifecycle, including premium bookings, claims processing, reconciliation, and settlement — ensuring accuracy and integrity at every stage.

Contract Compliance & Validation: Rigorously validate and analyze premium and claims data against contract wordings and treaty agreements to ensure full regulatory and contractual compliance

Financial Monitoring & Trend Analysis: Proactively monitor financial transactions within Technical Accounting systems, identifying and escalating adverse premium and claims trends from client data before they impact operations.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop comprehensive data analysis summaries and financial reports that support informed decision-making across multiple cross-functional teams and senior leadership

Reconciliation & Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex reconciliation breaks and accounting discrepancies, working collaboratively with internal teams and external clients to reach timely and accurate resolutions.

Performance & Cash Flow Management: Consistently deliver against operational commitments and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure effective cash flow management and operational excellence

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across geographical boundaries, contributing to client satisfaction and the implementation of global best practices

Process Improvement: Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of technical accounting processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within established frameworks

About the Team

This position sits within the Global Technical Accounting & Services organization for Life & Health Business, a team with worldwide responsibility for Technical Accounting functions, including Business Solution Centers. The team plays a critical role in ensuring that all financial flows — premiums received from clients and claims paid out — are accurately reconciled against expected amounts, maintaining the financial integrity of Swiss Re's reinsurance operations. Operating within well-defined frameworks while continuously seeking innovative solutions, the team is known for its collaborative spirit, technical rigor, and global reach. The role reports directly to the Manager Operations, Southeast Asia & India.

About You

You are a seasoned technical accounting professional who brings deep, hands-on experience across the full technical accounting value chain — from premium processing and claims management to reconciliation and financial reporting. You are detail-oriented, analytically sharp, and a confident communicator who can translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. You thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and are energized by working across cultures and time zones to deliver results that matter.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Educational Background: Graduate or Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, Insurance, or an equivalent field
  • Relevant Experience: 5+ years of end-to-end technical accounting experience in banking, insurance, reinsurance, or other financial services industries — covering the full cycle from premium booking through to claims settlement and reconciliation.
  • Technical Accounting Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of the Insurance/Reinsurance end-to-end value chain, including treaty and facultative business, premium and claims workflows, and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Proven data analytical skills with hands-on experience working with large and complex financial datasets to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and support decision-making
  • Communication & Client Management: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships effectively and present findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with data tools such as SAS, Python, or SQL for advanced financial data analysis
  • Prior experience in a reinsurance technical accounting environment, with exposure to Life & Health business lines
  • Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and their application in reinsurance accounting
  • Experience working in a global, multicultural, matrixed organization across multiple time zones
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure
  • Familiarity with accounting systems and ERP platforms used in financial services environments
