Senior Scala Developer with Go

You will be:

  • Designing and implementing scalable software solutions using Scala and Go in a distributed environment.
  • Working with event-driven and asynchronous architectures using Kafka.
  • Building and supporting high-throughput systems in production.
  • Work with AWS services, including S3 and EKS, across cloud, container, database, and storage environments.
  • Contributing to the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and testing.
  • Evaluating technical trade-offs against business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders.

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Scala and functional programming, with professional experience in Go or the ability to work across both Scala and Go codebases.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and high-throughput production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly S3 and EKS.
  • Experience with Kafka and event-driven or asynchronous architectures.
  • Experience with the Lightbend ecosystem, particularly Akka.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Jenkins, and New Relic.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle, including source control, CI/CD, and different testing approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.

Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

  • Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.

  • Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
