Sr. Quality Test Technician will be responsible for testing and quality assurance of all products in the Copeland Controls Solutions – Cold Chain portfolio of facility controls, devices, and software applications with high standards. Further this role will serve as mentor for onsite and offshore test teams.
As a Sr. Quality Test Technician, You Will:
- Have advanced knowledge of electronics along with understanding of electrical safety agency requirements and hands-on experience with controls systems, HVAC, and/or refrigeration systems.
- Maintain integration test environments including installing, wiring, devices, test labs, and controls products.
- Involve in test planning, forecasting test cycles, test case development, test execution, document test results and meeting estimated timelines.
- Identify defects, document root cause observations, and work closely with engineering for resolution.
- Participate in daily team meetings, test scope or requirements analysis sessions.
- Organizational skills, ability to respond to changing assignments and tasks with minimal supervisory oversight.
- Support to Engineering, Product Management, Technical Services department as needed with customer filed issue analysis and validations.
- Gather test data, maintain quality indicators of pre-release builds on test sites, report metrics and focus on continuous improvements to the process and testing efficiency.
- Provide training and mentorship to the team.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a combination of controls, firmware, peripherals, embedded systems and software testing.
- 1+ year experience as a senior or lead tester for controls, firmware, embedded, peripherals or software teams or testers.
- Knowledge of electronics is required along with understanding of electrical safety agency requirements.
- Strong experience with test planning, forecasting test cycles, creating test cases, execution and testing projects with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Experience with defect tracking, results documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to details, reporting, problem-solving ability, respond to changing assignments and tasks with minimal supervisory oversight.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understand testing types, methodologies including waterfall, agile development and have a basic understanding of CMMI.
- Familiarity with Automation Testing.
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and a programming language.
- Controls systems, Refrigeration and/ or HVAC will be a strong plus.
- Experience with Testing tools, JIRA, GitHub, and Automation.
Flexible Work Schedule
On-site position. Must be available to work off-hours occasionally to support offshore test teams. Domestic travel up to 10% is required.
