Senior QA Analyst (Frontend) – (India)

Overview   We are seeking a Senior QA Analyst to own quality assurance across the frontend-to-middleware boundary of a multi-step web onboarding workflow. This role goes beyond scripted execution - it requires the analytical depth to design exploratory test strategies, apply structured testing techniques like equivalence partitioning, and validate that the workflow's step-by-step progression and submission states behave correctly under a wide range of input conditions. The candidate will review the evidence produced by the Manual QA Tester and convert observed frontend behavior into a validated state model/FSM, including decision forks, equivalence classes, persona-specific behavior, and boundary conditions.   The ideal candidate is comfortable triaging complex defects and driving them to resolution.   Project Details   • Title: Senior QA Analyst (Frontend) - India • Rate: $6/hr • Start Date: 19 October • Duration: 4 Weeks • Commitment: 40 Hours per Week • Location: India (Remote) • Job Type: Freelance (with the possibility of full-time employment based on performance and project needs)

Responsibilities 

• Design and execute advanced exploratory testing to uncover issues not captured by scripted test cases, particularly around how form-level validation carries through to submission behavior   • Apply boundary testing techniques to identify edge-case failures across frontend input handling and the middleware calls that consume that data   • Use equivalence partitioning to design efficient, high-coverage test cases across valid, invalid, and edge-case input classes for form and workflow fields   • Validate application behavior against defined state models (e.g., step progression, enabled/disabled action states, submission and confirmation states) to confirm correct transitions under both expected and unexpected input   • Lead defect triage sessions, prioritizing issues by severity, impact, and reproducibility   • Partner with developers to clarify root causes and confirm fixes against original defect conditions   • Mentor junior QA testers on exploratory techniques and structured test design   • Contribute to test strategy documentation and coverage planning for frontend/middleware features   • Formalize and maintain the onboarding FSM/state-transition model based on observed application behavior   • Identify and document decision forks, state dependencies, persona-specific variations, and boundary conditions   • Validate coverage across the representative onboarding personas and identify gaps requiring additional controlled testing   • Produce a validated frontend/state-model evidence package for handoff to the Middleware SDET workstream   • Maintain traceability between observed UI behavior, FSM states, decision forks, and supporting evidence

Required Qualifications

• Solid 3-5+ years of experience as a QA Analyst with exposure to both frontend and middleware testing   • Demonstrated expertise in exploratory and boundary testing methodologies   • Practical experience applying equivalence partitioning and other formal test design techniques   • Familiarity with state-machine/workflow-state concepts and validating multi-step systems against expected state transitions   • Strong defect triage experience, including severity/priority classification and cross-team coordination   • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify non-obvious edge cases   • Effective communication skills with the ability to guide triage discussions and mentor peers   • Experience testing complex multi-step workflows, onboarding systems, registration flows, or account-creation processes is strongly preferred   • Ability to translate observed application behavior into structured state-transition models or equivalent workflow representations   • Working familiarity with browser and network developer tools is preferred; deep protocol-level expertise is not required   #L1-CC1
