suena energy is a green tech startup specializing in algorithmic energy trading for energy storage systems and renewable energies.
Our vision: a world where clean energy is used reliably, economically, and intelligently. With our AI-based optimization and trading software, we maximize the revenues of operators of large-scale energy storage and renewable assets on short-term electricity and balancing markets - while simultaneously minimizing their risks.

Your mission

• Drive People Operations end-to-end – maintain daily HR operations in Personio, execute contract changes, and manage parental leave, health insurance, and visa administration.
• Execute monthly payroll – lead hands-on coordination with our external payroll provider, process salary changes, bonuses, and benefits, and audit data to catch errors before payday.
• Centralize and own onboarding operations – consolidate fragmented tasks into a single, cohesive onboarding process that delivers a frictionless joiner experience.
• Maintain full HR compliance and safety – operationalize workplace safety, assign first-aid/fire-safety officers, enforce mandatory trainings, and keep processes fully compliant as we grow.
• Proactively spot and resolve operational gaps – audit details, flag inefficiencies early, and follow through to resolution before issues impact the team.
• Build scalable operational workflows – turn one-off edge cases into standardized, documented SOPs so processes run seamlessly and predictably as we scale.
• Co-own team experience and culture operations – partner with Marietta, our People Lead, to organize team rituals, manage internal communications logistics, and sustain the everyday culture that makes suena feel like suena.

Your profile

• Deep People Operations experience – you've owned HR processes along the whole employee lifecycle, not just supported someone who did. 
• You navigate German bureaucracy confidently – labor law, social security, health insurance, visa topics – and you always know what actually matters.
• Personio know-how – ideally you've set up or automated workflows in it.
• Employee-facing at heart – approachable, service-minded, and genuinely invested in how people experience working here, not just compliance from behind a desk.
• Direct communicator – you raise issues and push back when something's off.
• Fluent in German and English (C1 each) – company language is English, German is mandatory and required for some aspects your work.
• Already doing payroll, or open to growing into it? Either is fine.
