About the team

As the engineering organization matures, the infrastructure teams are key to Airwallex’s ability to build a globally distributed platform, increase engineer productivity, and ensure effective use of resources.

What you’ll do

• Design, deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN and cloud networks.

• Operate global connectivity, including leased lines, internet connections and data-centre networks.

• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and cloud networking services.

• Manage mixed-vendor environments such as Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba or equivalent platforms.

• Work with BGP, route filtering, subnetting, IPsec VPNs and network security controls.

• Respond to network incidents, lead troubleshooting and complete post-incident reviews.

• Support network projects, upgrades and change activities with minimal business disruption.

• Partner with Security, Engineering, IT and Workplace teams on network solutions.

• Maintain network diagrams, documentation, runbooks and operational procedures.

• Participate in a global on-call rotation.

Who you are

• 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in a production environment.

• Strong routing and switching fundamentals, equivalent to CCNA level or above.

• Experience with BGP, VPNs, network troubleshooting and change management.

• Practical experience with GCP or AWS networking; GCP experience is preferred for this role.

• Experience with at least two networking vendors, such as Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba or Arista.

• Working knowledge of Linux and scripting with Python or Bash.

• Experience with Terraform, Git or CI/CD-based infrastructure automation is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

• Experience in banking, fintech or other regulated, high-availability environments is highly preferred.

• A relevant networking certification such as CCNA, JNCIA, HCIA or equivalent is preferred.

• A stable employment history with sustained ownership of production systems.
