Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Director, Global AR & Collections to join our Finance team. This is a Santa Clara, CA hybrid role or U.S.-based remote role, reporting to the VP, Revenue Accounting. You will serve as the global process owner for the Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Collections lifecycle—from executable customer order through billing and invoicing impacts, receivables integrity, cash application, credit, collections, disputes, credits and rebills, write-offs, and cash realization.
This is a strategic process leadership role, not a transactional billing, AR, or collections role. You will be accountable for the global AR, Credit & Collections process architecture, control framework, KPI model, transformation agenda, India OTC COE outcomes, and end-to-end operational performance. You will ensure Zscaler operates with one integrated AR, Credit & Collections process, one KPI architecture, one transformation roadmap, and one accountable global leader across the customer-facing cash chain.

What You’ll Do — Role Expectations
  • Serve as the global process owner for the end-to-end AR, Credit & Collections chain, including billing impacts, AR management, cash application, credit risk evaluation, collections strategy and execution, disputes, credits/rebills, write-offs, and cash realization.
  • Own the global AR, Credit & Collections process architecture, controls, data requirements, KPI framework, and performance outcomes across receivables integrity, DSO, AR aging, cash application automation, collections effectiveness, disputes, and bad debt.
  • Provide global leadership to the India OTC COE in partnership with the Director, Order Management & Billing and Director, AR, Credit & Collections, including delegated authority, KPIs, escalation thresholds, and outcome ownership.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Sales Operations, Deal Desk, Legal, Provisioning, Product, Pricing, Technical Revenue, Revenue Accounting, Treasury, Controllership, Business Transformation, IT) to improve upstream order quality and contract terms, preventing downstream AR, credit, and collections issues.
  • Lead the AR, Credit & Collections transformation agenda, including automation and analytics across billing exceptions, credits/rebills, cash application, collections prioritization, dispute routing, exception queues, and human-touch reduction.
Who You Are — Success Profile
  • You are customer-obsessed, building deep empathy for internal and external customers and recognizing that strong AR, credit, and collections practices support long-term relationships and sustainable growth.
  • You act like an owner, operating with integrity, a bias for action, and the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution in AR, Credit & Collections.
  • You are a problem-solver who seeks out complex AR, credit, and collections challenges, using data, judgment, and cross-functional collaboration to design durable solutions.
  • You operate with urgency, driving high-impact results quickly across AR health, DSO, cash flow, and dispute resolution in a high-growth environment.
  • You think at scale, building global processes, teams, and solutions that are effective today and built to support a high-growth, multi-region technology business.
What We’re Looking For — Minimum Qualifications
  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance workflows and augment problem-solving in AR, credit, and collections.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, credit, collections, order-to-cash, revenue operations, finance operations, controllership, finance transformation, or a related field.
  • Experience leading large-scale global AR, Credit & Collections or OTC operations in a public company or high-growth enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end AR, credit, and collections processes, including billing and invoicing, AR management, cash application, credit policies, collections strategies, disputes, credits/rebills, write-offs, and cash realization.
  • Demonstrated ability to own process architecture, controls, KPIs, transformation roadmap, global operating performance, cross-functional governance, and distributed COE operating models.
What Will Make You Stand Out — Preferred Qualifications
  • Applied AI & Automation experience using generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, or advanced analytics to optimize credit scoring, AR portfolio management, collections workflows, exception handling, and dispute routing.
  • Experience in SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud, software, technology, subscription, usage-based, or consumption-based business models and their AR, credit, and collections nuances.
  • Experience with CPQ, CLM, ERP, billing platforms, cash application tools, collections platforms, workflow tools, and finance transformation programs.
  • Public company experience with SOX controls and audit-ready operational processes for AR, credit approvals, collections activities, write-offs, and disputes.
  • Demonstrated success improving billing accuracy and receivables quality, reducing credits/rebills and dispute aging, improving DSO, reducing bad debt/write-offs, increasing cash application automation, and reducing human touches per transaction.
