Senior Data Engineer (AI-Native project, JR803)

ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for a Senior Data Engineer in  Poland, Croatia, or Ukraine.   ABOUT PROJECT   Our client is one of the largest insurance brokers in the world, working in the Insurance business domain and providing risk management, insurance, and reinsurance brokerage, and investment banking solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

 

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer

• Strong expertise in MS SQL and Databricks in cloud environments, including DBA responsibilities focused on performance tuning and workflows

• Advanced mastery of T‑SQL and Spark

• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud

• In‑depth knowledge of indexes, execution plans, query optimization, and Python scripting

• Solid understanding of Delta Sharing, Unity Catalog, computing resources, and jobs

• Hands‑on experience with data synchronization workflows

• Upper‑Intermediate level of English

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable software in line with technical requirements, focusing on performance and availability
• Analyze requirements, review designs, and estimate user stories following project methodology (Agile, Waterfall, etc)
• Proactively propose code refactoring and optimization improvements according to the best software development practices and coding standards
• Help maintain and improve high-quality standards within the developer community by sharing knowledge, conducting tech talks, and participating in the internal promotion verification process
• Stay up-to-date with modern technology and obtain professional certifications
• Support less experienced developers by providing training, distributing, and monitoring tasks
