Senior Accountant (Fixed term)

Join Stryker’s Finance team in a senior accounting role supporting accurate financial reporting and general accounting processes within an international environment. You will provide technical accounting expertise, review key accounting activities, support month-end close, coordinate deliverables, and help maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert for general accounting processes, providing guidance to team members and supporting accounting-related queries.
• Perform and review complex accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, cash accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement analysis.
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned entities, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation and accuracy.
• Coordinate month-end closing activities and other key accounting deliverables in collaboration with the Supervisor or Lead Analyst.
• Execute assigned Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and support internal and external audit requirements while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with local accounting teams and markets to investigate and resolve discrepancies, accounting issues, and queries, escalating matters when required.
• Support the migration of accounting processes across countries in scope and create and maintain related process and procedure documentation.
• Train new and existing team members and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

What you will need

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance or general accounting.
• Experience with journal entry processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, fixed assets, or related general accounting activities.
• English proficiency at B2 level.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros, charts, and formulas.

Preferred

• Experience working in a shared services environment or within a large, global, or multinational organization.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Experience using SAP.
