SAP ABAP Senior Technical Specialist

Job Summary

An experienced SAP Data Analyst is required to join an industry leading End User. The consultant will assist in an exercise to improve data quality, consistency, structure, suitability, and related processes required to both improve and maintain effective data and structures within SAP ECC6. The individual must have excellent experience of the following key SAP ECC modules, with specific regard to data, including tables, structures, enhancements, cross module integration, dependencies, configuration, workflow, blocking and deletion:

• FI: GL (New and Classic), Account Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting
• CO: Profit Centre accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, Projects, Internal Orders, Time-sheeting

Reporting to the SAP Finance Data Workstream Lead the candidate will be able to communicate effectively at all levels and assist in in the end-to-end life cycle of SAP data improvement projects.

The individual will have proven experience as a technical expert on process improvement and data cleansing/rationalisation projects and will display expertise with process and data analysis and data manipulation tasks. The individual will be directly responsible for the analysis of data and processes and producing reasoned recommendations for data cleansing and rationalisation steps, methodology and process improvements, whilst taking consideration of implications for reporting and other associated data and processes that may be impacted.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution design across SAP FI/CO, Funds Management and related business processes.
• Design E2E processes and ensure effective integration across SAP modules and non-SAP systems.
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP ECC and  S/4HANA solution designs to support future migration.
• Provide expertise on SAP Finance, budgeting, reporting and funds management capabilities.
• Support programme planning, delivery, mobilisation and design activities.
• Identify and manage business, technical and integration dependencies.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, ERP teams, delivery partners and third parties.
• Produce and review solution documentation, design artefacts and functional specifications.
• Support testing, data migration, deployment and transition activities.
• Provide architectural assurance through governance forums, design authorities and design reviews.
• Present solution options, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions align with organisational standards, target architecture and strategic objectives.

Skill Requirements

• Strong SAP FICO and Funds Management expertise.
• Experience delivering SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA programmes.
• Strong cross-functional SAP knowledge and integration experience.
• Experience supporting programme delivery across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience producing solution designs, functional specifications and architecture documentation.
• Experience working within governance, design authority and assurance processes.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
