Salesforce Engineer II

We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Applications Engineer II to support the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance Salesforce and ecosystem solutions. This role is responsible for building and maintaining applications across Salesforce products, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom applications built on the Salesforce Platform. Leveraging solid expertise in Salesforce development, integration patterns, data modeling, and system design, you will align platform capabilities with business objectives, optimize systems for performance and security, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior engineers.

Primary Duties

Scalable Solution Design & Execution (30%)

• Develop programmatic cross-module workflows and scripts to capture API payload data and pipeline performance metrics.

• Apply strong analytical thinking to diagnose Salesforce system anomalies and multi-platform data sync drifts rather than applying isolated patches.

• Appropriately select between declarative vs. programmatic execution, utilizing custom code (Apex, LWC) when native Flows cannot meet scale requirements.

Portfolio Execution & Technical Delivery (25%)

• Implement custom integrations and core Salesforce features while minimizing the risk of platform API deprecations or major vendor updates.

• Demonstrate a strong bias to action by taking ownership of integration issues, failing queues, or deployment locks during release cycles.

• Consistently deliver production-ready, bulkified code within target timeframes while enforcing automated testing patterns, version control, and health monitoring within platform Governor and API limits.

Cross-Functional Integration & Compliance (20%)

• Collaborate effectively with partner teams (Data Engineering, Security, Finance) on custom integrations to ensure architectures cleanly support adjacent business workflows.

• Prioritize and resolve complex bug fixes in custom code, instrumenting API endpoints and Salesforce Event Monitoring for better observability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application alerts and system sync issues within established SLAs.

Technical Support & DevOps Practices (25%)

• Participate in DevOps best practices (repository-driven sandbox management, CI/CD pipelines) to reduce deployment friction, and engage in peer code reviews focused on bulkification, efficiency, and code quality.

• Safely utilize AI-assisted development tools (code generation assistants, syntax formatters) while critically evaluating AI-suggested SOQL structures, collection iterations, and asynchronous patterns against execution limits.

• Identify manual processes for programmatic automation and document application procedures and incident post-mortems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience: 4+ years of Salesforce Developer/Engineering experience.

Preferred KSA’s

• Solid understanding of systems architecture and technical specifications aligned with business growth.

• Strong critical thinking skills to diagnose systemic Salesforce anomalies and data sync issues across connected platforms.

• Hands-on expertise in custom development concepts, including bulkified Flows, Apex, Triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and REST-based web services.

• Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Components, SFDC APIs, SOQL, SOSL, XML, JSON, and modern DevOps/CI/CD tools.

• Fluency in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation assistants), with the ability to critically evaluate AI-suggested SOQL query structures, collection iterations, and asynchronous patterns against execution limits.

• Experience participating in technical solution evaluation, integration planning, and change control processes.

• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer I / II, or App Builder).

Physical Requirements

Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
