Sales Development Representative, SME & Growth – France (Paris)

Hybrid Paris, France

About Airwallex

Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 676,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own.

We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,300 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. Read our operating principles to see it in full.

Based out of our Paris office, this role focuses on generating and qualifying leads to build Airwallex’s SME & Growth sales pipeline across the French market. As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you’ll engage prospects to understand account needs, identify high‑value opportunities, and drive the earliest stages of the funnel before handing off to our Account Executives (AEs). You’ll join the French team and collaborate closely with peers across our European offices (London, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Vilnius) as we scale in the region. If you’re hungry, smart, persistent, and a great teammate, we want to hear from you. With the commission structure for this role, there is significant upside tied to qualified pipeline and won opportunities.

We operate a hybrid model: we work from the office minimum 3 days per week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Initiate contact with potential customers via email, phone, and social channels, orchestrating multichannel outreach sequences.

  • Qualify prospect needs through effective discovery, assess interest and viability, and progress qualified leads to meetings with AEs.

  • Partner closely with AEs on handover and first call preparation to ensure a smooth transition and top‑tier customer experience.

  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene (activities, contacts, qualification notes) and support forecasting/reporting.

  • Test, measure, and recommend outreach strategies (messaging, cadence, channel mix) to improve conversion rates.

  • Share field insights with Marketing to refine targeting, ICPs, and messaging.

  • Help document and scale best practices as we build out the BDR function in France.

About you

  • Target‑oriented — energized by stretch goals that drive growth and reward direct impact.

  • Customer‑focused — curious about how prospects operate and data‑driven in how you prioritize and problem‑solve.

  • Process‑driven — you build, document, and refine scalable approaches.

  • Team player — collaborative and dependable, with the ability to work independently.

  • Master prioritizer — excellent judgment in fast, dynamic environments.

  • Obsessively curious — you dig deeper, ask the right questions, and make sound, risk‑based decisions.

What you’ll bring

  • Track record of top performance in a BDR/SDR or related commercial role.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in French and English.

  • Strong interest in technology and/or financial services.

  • Self‑starter comfortable operating in a hyper‑growth environment.

  • Clear, structured written and verbal communication with multiple stakeholders.
