SAH Medical Secretary -Assistant Per Diem

SUMMARY:

The medical assistant/secretary position serves to assist in the daily health care delivery system in the medical office.  The position covers a wide range of responsibilities that entail a combination of providing direct care and technical and administrative assistance to patients, nurses and physicians. On a daily basis, the incumbent will perform a variety of computer, clerical, scheduling and supply functions necessary for the operation of the medical practice with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma required

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• AHA Basic Life required.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Minimum of one year working in hospital / medical practice or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous medical assistant experience and knowledge of medical practice operations preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, interpreting physician orders, and direct medical assisting. 
• Bilingual candidates strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform clinical competency standards set forth by St. Anne’s Regional Medical Center including adherence to all policies and procedures of the organization.
• Previous experience with hospital and medical practice scheduling/information systems preferred. 
• Basic computer literacy required.

Pay Range: 

$19.41-$28.30
