Robotics Engineer, Autonomous Systems (Mid-Level)
About the Role
Join an engineering and R&D team building autonomous robotic systems for drone delivery. You will take systems from prototype through integration and field validation, helping enable safe and reliable operations.
What You'll Do
Design and integrate robotic mechanisms, sensors, actuators, controllers, and drone payload systems.
Develop control, navigation, path-planning, and obstacle-avoidance solutions.
Build and test robotics software with ROS or ROS 2, C++ or Python, and simulation tools.
Integrate flight controllers, companion computers, communication links, and telemetry with drone systems.
Troubleshoot and validate robotic systems in the field, including flight-log analysis.
Work with mechanical, electronics, and software teams to develop and deploy prototypes.
What We're Looking For
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in robotics, UAV systems, or autonomous systems.
Strong knowledge of robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, dynamics, control theory, PID, and system integration.
Proficiency in C++ or Python, ROS or ROS 2, and Linux; MATLAB familiarity is useful.
Knowledge of drone systems, including PX4 or ArduPilot, MAVLink, motors, ESCs, batteries, and flight controllers.
Experience with sensors and autonomy, such as IMU, GPS or RTK, LiDAR, sensor fusion, and GPS-denied navigation.
Embedded systems and prototyping experience, including microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi or Jetson, actuators, communication protocols, and hardware debugging.
A degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, aerospace, computer science, or a related field.
Computer vision, machine learning, SLAM, Gazebo or Webots, CAD, BVLOS, or UTM knowledge is a plus.
