Robotics Engineer, Autonomous Systems
About the Role
Join an engineering and research team building autonomous drone delivery systems. You will develop and integrate robotic systems from mechanical assemblies and electronics through software and field validation, helping enable safe and reliable operations.
What You'll Do
Design and integrate robotic mechanisms, sensors, actuators, controllers, and drone payload systems.
Develop control, navigation, path-planning, and obstacle-avoidance capabilities.
Program robotics software with ROS or ROS 2 and C++ or Python, and validate systems in simulation.
Integrate flight controllers, companion computers, communications links, and telemetry with drone systems.
Build, troubleshoot, and validate robotic systems in the field, including analyzing flight logs.
Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and software teams on prototypes and deployments.
What We're Looking For
At least 2 years of hands-on experience building or delivering robotics, UAV, or autonomous systems.
Proficiency in C++ or Python, ROS or ROS 2, and Linux; MATLAB familiarity is helpful.
Knowledge of robotics fundamentals including kinematics, dynamics, control theory, and system integration.
Experience with PX4 or ArduPilot, MAVLink, drone components, and flight controllers.
Hands-on experience integrating IMU, GPS or RTK, or LiDAR sensors, and familiarity with sensor fusion or GPS-denied navigation.
Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi or Jetson, robotic mechanisms, actuators, and drone payloads.
Ability to debug CAN, UART, or I2C communications and implement autonomy functions such as navigation or obstacle avoidance.
A degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical or electronics engineering, aerospace, computer science, or a related field.
Computer vision, machine learning, SLAM, simulation tools, CAD, BVLOS, or UTM experience is a plus.
