Quality Assurance Assistant Chemist (3rd Shift 9p-5:30a)

As our Assistant Chemist you will be responsible for ensuring product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance through laboratory testing, microbiological analysis, product release, SAP data management, quality inspections, and team leadership.
Key Position-Related Duties and Job Functions
- Perform laboratory and microbiological testing and release ingredients, syrups, water, HFCS, and finished products.
- Collect, analyze, document, and interpret microbiological samples and test results.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Manage quality-related SAP transactions, including product releases, block stock, master data, and quality records.
- Conduct GMP audits, process verifications, end-of-run verifications, and production quality inspections.
- Verify labels, packaging, product codes, and production specifications to ensure compliance.
- Manage incoming ingredient inspections and nonconforming materials.
- Maintain laboratory documentation, records, reports, retention programs, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and support laboratory technicians, assign workload, and provide shift communication.
- Investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and support plant operations.
- Maintain laboratory supplies, housekeeping standards, and equipment performance.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Quality Assurance, or related scientific related discipline.
- Experience in Quality Assurance, microbiology, or laboratory operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP, GMPs, GLPs, HACCP, and food safety systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay Range: 72,999 - 73,819 USD
