About the Unit

YARA Environmental Technologies is the center of competence for basic / detail engineering and turnkey solutions of DeNOx systems. With several hundred of systems installed globally our flue gas cleaning systems are used for the efficient removal of pollutants from flue gas using catalytic & non-catalytic denitrification processes. Hazardous substances (NOx, SOx, Hg, Dioxin, etc.) are substantially reduced through an ideal combination of our systems to provide tried-and-tested, leading-edge technologies for environment-friendly power plants and industrial applications.

We take Yara’s mission to “protect the planet” seriously. Our systems clean the air and protect the planet through the delivery of NOx abatement systems for a wide range of power plants and stationary industrial processes. We develop and supply equipment for cleaning exhaust gases from industrial plants and support Yara in implementing decarbonization, efficiency enhancement and optimization projects.

The YARA Environmental Technologies unit has the stability and security that comes from being part of a major international corporation, while offering opportunities to experience a variety of plant engineering tasks in an agile, dynamic team. This "Stationary" unit within Yara Industrial Solutions global function employs around 60 people in Austria, Taiwan and Poland.

Responsibilities

The Project Lead Engineer ensures technical execution of client's contracts in view of time (time scheduling, deadlines), costs (together with PM), quality, scope (incl. claim management support) and risk management related to technical requirements, technical project management.

Engineering & Documentation: Manage a team of different discipline engineers inside a project to deliver the requested output.
Support in the development and implementation of the standardized and harmonized engineering practices. Preparing and checking technical specifications of equipment and services, technical offer comparison. Preparing and checking documentation/drawings. 

Contract & Risk Management: Technical contract review, risk analysis, prepare project specific terms and conditions. Evaluate and raise technical and commercial risks during project execution to PM. Ensures high customer satisfaction, by providing prompt resolution of contract-based customers complaints or concerns. Ensure technical requirements are followed inside the project team, be the first technical contact person to client and supplier during project.

Project Execution & Support: Providing support during sales and project execution. Technically support projects during commissioning by back office and on site activities. Technical Clarification to Owner, Troubleshooting, together with PM.

Procurement & Interfaces: Control and manage interfaces of purchasing packages. Technically support of procurement activities.
Communication and interfaces with other disciplines/project team members.

Profile

Qualifications & Experience: University degree in engineering or similar education (e.g. higher technical school with working experience). 5-10 years experience in the field of engineering for investment projects with a proven experience on working in design engineering or execution of technical projects.

Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of engineering standards, technical specifications and quality assurance. Expertise in troubleshooting and technical clarifications. Good skilled in cross-functional communication, collaboration and client interaction. 

Language, Digital Skills & Mobility: Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are considered a strong advantage. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Autodesk Inventor is an advantage. Willingness to travel internationally and support project activities across multiple locations.

Additional Information

The position is located in Vienna/Austria in the Gasometer which is perfectly connected to public traffic.

The salary is based on the valid collective agreement (Kollektivvertrag Information und Consulting). Depending on the qualification and experience, there is a strong willingness for a significant overpayment.
