Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Power Plant Operator - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals! This position is located on site in Promontory, UT.
Essential Functions:
- Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as steam generators and steam turbines, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, air compressors, turbo blowers, electric motors, diesel generators, pumps, heaters, and boilers to provide utilities such as light, heat, or power for buildings and industrial processes
- Inspects equipment and performs preventive maintenance measures and routine operational adjustments such as lubricating and cleaning filters, motors, and other equipment
- Records data such as temperatures, pressures, water levels, and voltage and makes any necessary adjustments
- Other typical job titles include Stationary Engineer and Operating Engineer
The position can be filled with either level 2 or level 3
Basic Qualifications:
- Level 2: High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant Power Plant experience
- Level 3: High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant Power Plant experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience with steam and water boilers
- Experience with chillers and distribution systems
- Experience with compressed air systems
- Experience with pumps and seal replacements/repairs
