Planner/Buyer
Position Summary
The Planner is responsible for ensuring material readiness, inventory optimization, and supply continuity to support production schedules and customer demand. Working closely with the Master Scheduler, the Planner converts production priorities into material plans, proactively mitigates supply risks, and maintains planning accuracy to support uninterrupted operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure material availability by Analyze demand, inventory levels, and planning parameters to support production schedules and customer priorities.
- Identify material shortages, supply risks, and constraints; develop recovery and mitigation plans.
- Maintain planning parameters including lead times, safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, and planning policies and optimize inventory levels while reducing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and product transitions.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data analysis to support planning decisions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure production continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, inventory, and material flow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of supply chain planning experience.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and inventory management skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; Power BI experience preferred.
- APICS certification, Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban, or related continuous improvement methodologies are a plus.
