Role Summary

As a Packaging Coordinator, you will lead your team and manage end-to-end projects for new packaging material development, ensuring they meet the quality, cost, and timeline specifications established by local and regional/global initiatives (KT and BIG) while anticipating and mitigating technical risks. Sitting at the intersection of R&D, procurement, and operations, you will provide critical technical support to manufacturing to optimize existing products, troubleshoot packaging quality issues, and drive innovation in materials and technologies to generate competitive advantages and cost savings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Packaging Development & Technical Specifications: Translate aesthetic and functional concepts from local (KT) and regional/global (BIG) projects into accurate technical specifications within SAP/PGSS, ensuring feasibility in terms of cost, scalability, and quality.

  • Quality Assurance & Testing Validation: Define and execute the Master Test Plan to ensure packaging materials meet corporate quality, functionality, and compliance standards; oversee First Production Runs (FPR) at an industrial scale to validate process capability.

  • Supplier Development & Procurement Partnership: Collaborate with Procurement in evaluating, selecting, and qualifying reliable packaging suppliers, defining specialized vendors for high-complexity materials, and conducting laboratory validations.

  • Change Management & Technical Documentation: Evaluate, cost, communicate, and document technical design changes impacting project timelines or specifications, ensuring all bill of materials (BOMs) and master data remain accurate and compliant with quality systems.

  • Manufacturing Technical Support & Continuous Improvement: Provide expert technical support across plant operations to troubleshoot packaging line issues, drive root-cause corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and implement material innovations that optimize line performance and reduce total cost of ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in packaging development, project management, or packaging manufacturing operations.

  • Technical & Analytical Skills: In-depth knowledge of packaging materials (corrugated boxes, folding cartons, plastic converting processes, printing/decorating techniques), test methods, project financial analysis, and intermediate statistical/data analysis.

  • Language: Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Domain: Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or personal care/oral care manufacturing sector.

  • People Leadership: Demonstrated experience or strong potential in supervising, coaching, and developing technical teams.
