We are now looking for an experienced Operations Leader to optimise performance at our Collins Aerospace Aftermarket site in Shannon.
This is a key site leadership position reporting to the General Manager / Accountable Manager, with responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the repair station, alongside oversight of site facilities and auditing of the monthly shop floor bonus scheme.
Working closely with a team of Production Supervisors, you will create an environment in which our people can perform at their best while delivering against our commitments in Product Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and
Employee Engagement.

What You Will Do
Lead and Develop Team Members
You will provide visible, hands-on leadership across the repair operation, creating a culture built around accountability, collaboration, respect and continuous improvement.
You will:
- Take responsibility for repair personnel and collaborate with other functions to support the site’s performance and business targets.
- Deputise for the Workshop Manager when required.
- Build a high-performing and highly engaged culture where people feel empowered to contribute, challenge and improve.
- Set clear expectations and drive accountability for operational performance within your area of responsibility.
- Identify talent and development needs, creating opportunities for professional growth across the team.
- Maintain the competence of maintenance personnel by continually identifying training gaps and ensuring appropriate skill sets are maintained.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of team time records across your area of responsibility.
Own Operational Performance
You will be responsible for achieving output, quality, efficiency and safety targets within your area of responsibility.
You will:
- Develop and execute production plans within your area of responsibility.
- Drive performance against key measures, including on-time delivery, quality, productivity and cost.
- Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Forecast resource, capacity and capability requirements to support production demand and future growth.
- Drive disciplined execution of daily Lean management, including tiered accountability meetings, visual management and leader standard work.
- Take prompt corrective action where performance falls short of plan.
- Audit the monthly shop floor bonus scheme, verifying supporting performance data and calculations against the agreed scheme criteria, resolving discrepancies with relevant stakeholders and maintaining clear records to support accurate and timely payment.
Oversee Site Facilities
You will oversee day-to-day facilities management at the Shannon site, ensuring the workplace and supporting infrastructure enable safe, reliable and efficient operations.
You will:
- Coordinate planned maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the building, utilities and supporting site infrastructure.
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers, coordinating work to minimise disruption to repair operations.
- Work closely with EHS, Quality and other relevant functions to ensure facilities activities meet applicable safety requirements and company procedures.
- Monitor facilities issues, prioritise corrective actions and escalate risks, expenditure requirements and infrastructure needs to the General Manager.
Champion Continuous Improvement
Continuous improvement will be central to your leadership approach. You will take ownership of CORE continuous improvement initiatives, creating and sustaining an improvement strategy aligned with the wider objectives of Collins Aerospace and RTX.
You will:
- Identify, prioritise and deliver continuous improvement projects across the operation.
- Use Lean and CI methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen and Root Cause Analysis.
- Work cross-functionally to remove bottlenecks, eliminate waste and streamline repair and production processes.
- Engage employees at all levels in identifying and implementing better ways of working.
- Track the impact of improvement initiatives against agreed KPIs.
- Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, quality, cost and operational performance.
- Lead improvement events using the company’s continuous improvement programme, CORE.
You will be a change leader, bringing people with you as you implement improvement projects and initiatives.
Put Safety, Quality and Compliance First
Operating within a regulated aerospace environment means safety, quality and compliance are fundamental to everything we do.
Within your area of responsibility, you will ensure maintenance standards are achieved in accordance with Part 145.A.65 and approved maintenance data.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintaining a strong, proactive safety culture across the operation.
- Ensuring the correct handling, identification and tagging of parts and units throughout the repair process.
- Ensuring tools are appropriately controlled, segregated, preserved and maintained in serviceable condition.
- Maintaining documentation integrity and ensuring maintenance entries, forms and work orders are correctly completed.
- Ensuring continuity of repair activity when personnel, shifts or assignments change.
- Ensuring satisfactory completion of customer work in accordance with approved data, procedures and quality standards.
- Completing agreed corrective actions arising from Quality Audits within required timescales.

You will contribute to strategic planning, capacity and resource forecasting, and operational improvement, ensuring the Shannon operation is positioned to respond to changing customer requirements and future growth opportunities.
What You Will Bring
We are looking for an established operations leader who combines strong people leadership with a passion for operational excellence.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. An advanced degree would be advantageous.
- 8+ years’ experience in production or operations management within aerospace, manufacturing, MedTech or another highly regulated environment.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing operational teams.
- Strong experience delivering continuous improvement within a manufacturing, production or repair environment.
- Practical knowledge of Lean and CI methodologies, with evidence of delivering measurable improvements in cost, productivity, quality or delivery.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification would be advantageous.
- Strong project management capability and experience delivering improvement programmes from concept through to implementation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships across different functions and levels of an organisation.
- Strong SAP and Microsoft Office skills.
