About the Team

CoreWeave's Global Tax team is an AI native tax team; we are builders at our core. The team supports one of the fastest-scaling infrastructure footprints in the AI industry. We manage tax across roughly 50 data center sites in the United States and an asset base of approximately $22 billion of equipment, hardware, and GPUs — a base that is forecast to more than double again over the next two years. Our Indirect Tax function owns sales and use tax, property tax, business licenses, gross receipts taxes, and the exemption and incentive strategies that make a buildout of this scale economical.

Key Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own the direct and indirect taxation of fixed assets at a company adding sites faster than most operators add racks. You are a builder and will bring a forward thinking mindset on how to incorporate AI into everyday tasks to improve and develop the workflows that you own. You will run the US property tax cycle, maintain the tax fixed asset data that drives depreciation and property tax reporting, and be the day-to-day point of contact for our outside property tax advisors. You will support the self-development buildout on construction-period questions and equipment exemptions, and work with Direct Tax on the depreciation inputs that flow into the provision and tax return. There is a clear path here to owning the function outright as the footprint grows.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Tax & Innovation, the Manager, Tax Infrastructure will manage the tax reporting and compliance obligations attached to CoreWeave's physical asset base — property tax, tax fixed asset data, and the exemption positions that follow equipment from purchase order through placed-in-service. This role sits at the seam between direct and indirect tax, and partners closely with Tax Operations, Accounting Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Data Center Construction.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the US property tax compliance cycle — filings, assessment review, bill processing, payment approval, accruals, and appeal support — across a rapidly expanding set of sites and taxing jurisdictions.
  • Maintain the tax fixed asset data set: reconcile it to the NetSuite asset register and the capital forecast, resolve asset classification and location discrepancies, and prepare the data that supports tax depreciation and property tax reporting.
  • Work side by side with Accounting Operations to build a deep working understanding of the fixed asset lifecycle — from purchase order and receipt, through construction-in-progress, capitalization and in-service dating, to inter-site transfers, disposals and retirements — and know what each stage means for property tax reporting and tax depreciation.
  • Prepare and update the property tax forecast each quarter, including identifying new locations against each lien date and reflecting construction-in-progress and inventory positions.
  • Manage property tax audits and assessment appeals day to day: assemble the asset records auditors request, prepare the valuation and classification support, and act as a direct point of contact for assessors and auditors rather than routing everything through an advisor.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for outside property tax advisors: manage the calendar, supply clean reconciled data rather than raw extracts, review deliverables, and track fees against scope so advisor spend grows more slowly than the asset base.
  • Support Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics on the tax consequences of asset movement — receipt location versus use location, third-party logistics receiving models, and exemption certificate and direct pay permit administration.
  • Support Data Center Construction and Site Development on self-developed sites, including construction-period questions, sales and use tax on construction inputs versus operating equipment, and construction pay application review — building direct working relationships with those teams rather than working through intermediaries.
  • Partner with Direct Tax to deliver fixed asset inputs needed for determination of depreciation methods analysis, placed-in-service determinations, and tax reporting.
  • Track capital investment and abatement commitments tied to incentive agreements and prepare the supporting documentation.
  • Document and improve the processes and controls behind all of the above so they scale with capital expenditure volume.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of progressive tax experience, including time in-house or in a service capacity for capital-intensive businesses — data center, cloud, telecommunications, energy, manufacturing, or real estate.
  • Hands-on experience preparing or managing US property tax compliance, including real and personal property filings, assessment review, and accrual support.
  • Direct experience working in a tax fixed asset register — reconciling asset data, resolving classification and location issues, and producing depreciation reporting from it.
  • Working knowledge of federal tax depreciation mechanics, including MACRS, bonus depreciation, and placed-in-service determinations.
  • Experience applying sales and use tax to capital equipment, including exemption certificate management and equipment taxability analysis.
  • Experience working directly with Accounting Operations and with Supply Chain or Procurement — you can trace an asset from purchase order to receipt to capitalization to return.
  • Proficiency with ERP and fixed asset systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle Fixed Assets, or comparable) and advanced Excel; comfort working with large data sets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Progress toward or completion of a CPA or CMI (Property Tax) designation.
  • Data center construction or development experience, including exposure to construction-in-progress and construction pay applications.
  • Cost segregation experience, or experience supporting asset classification studies.
  • Exposure to state and local incentives and abatement compliance reporting.
  • Exposure to tax technology and automation and genuine interest in using AI tooling to compress compliance cycles.
