Manager, Solutions Engineering
The Opportunity
As Manager of Solutions Engineering, you lead our Solutions Engineers day to day. You keep the team sharp on a platform that is growing fast, make sure every deal and every new customer gets the technical coverage they need, and raise the bar on how we discover, demo, migrate and win.
This is a player coach role on a lean team. You need enough technical credibility to earn the respect of experienced engineers, and the leadership instincts to make everyone around you better. We run pre-sales and post sales as separate teams, and you may lead either one or both, depending on where we need you. You will report to the Global Director of Solutions Engineering, and the SEs on your team will report to you. You will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product and Marketing.
This is a hybrid position in our Miami office, Tuesday through Thursday.
What You'll Do
- Lead the team day to day: Run the team rhythm, coverage and workload so every opportunity gets the right SE at the right time.
- Coach for real: Listen to calls, give direct and useful feedback on discovery, demos, positioning and objection handling, and develop each SE with a clear path to grow.
- Step into the work: Join key opportunities and customer migrations, pressure test the technical strategy and help Account Executives and SEs move evaluations to close and customers to go live.
- Set the technical bar: Hold the team to a high standard for demos, proofs of concept and technical validation across Windows, macOS, endpoint security, identity and compliance.
- Keep the team current: Make sure the team stays on top of product releases, competitors and newer areas like Android, identity and compliance, and build repeatable assets that save everyone time.
- Hire and onboard: Help interview and hire SEs, and get new hires productive quickly.
- Be the bridge: Work with Sales, Product and Marketing, bring clear field feedback back to Product and tell leadership where the team is strong and where it needs help.
What You'll Bring
- Leadership: You have managed or led SEs or a technical, customer facing team, and you have a record of developing people. Having built or scaled an SE team, including hiring and onboarding, is a big plus.
- SE maturity: You have a strong SE background in presales, post sales or both. Your discovery is sharp, your demos are well structured, and you know how to position value and compete. Experience with long, complex technical evaluations and larger deals helps.
- Current device management depth: You know macOS and Windows management well and recently, including MDM or UEM tools like Jamf and Intune. Experience with Android Enterprise, Declarative Device Management or Platform SSO is a plus.
- Identity and security knowledge: Working knowledge of Okta or Entra ID, SAML, OIDC and SCIM, plus endpoint security, including EDR and vulnerability management. Compliance automation or GRC background is a plus.
- Technical credibility: You have enough hands on depth to troubleshoot, review a proof of concept and challenge an SE's approach, and you are comfortable with scripting and APIs.
- Humility and coachability: You are confident without needing to be the smartest person in the room. You can coach people who know some things better than you do, and learn from them.
- Grit: The environment is demanding, with heavy customer calendars, context switching, quarter end pushes and constant product change. You set the example on ownership and build a team that shares what it knows and keeps improving.
