  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, analysing variances, monitoring performance against plans, and identifying key trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items while monitoring AR and AP accounts to maintain balance sheet integrity.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with accounting standards and company policies, while identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial information and analysis as required.
  • Support year-end reporting and external audit activities, including preparing audit schedules, acting as a key audit contact, and implementing audit recommendations.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting obligations.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Support cash flow reporting and forecasting activities.
  • Monitor capital expenditure.

What sets you apart:

Essential

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role.
  • Proven experience producing monthly management accounts.
  • Strong understanding of month-end processes, journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Experience of balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience within a multi-site operational business.
  • Exposure to external audit processes.
  • Experience using ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Fixed asset accounting experience.
  • Background within service, rental, engineering or asset-based businesses.

What you’ll get in return:
