  • Diagnose robot, controls, programming, and communication issues that require technical support beyond traditional mechanical maintenance troubleshooting.
  • Make programming adjustments to robotic applications and automated systems, including mold release, priming, spraying, and other process-specific manufacturing applications.
  • Support the integration and operation of robots with surrounding equipment, vision systems, sensors, PLCs, and other connected automation devices to ensure reliable system communication and performance.
  • Troubleshoot industrial communication networks and protocols and perform preventive maintenance, system verification, and technical support to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Partner closely with Maintenance, Controls, Engineering, and Production teams, serving as an on-floor technical resource for robotic programming, automation, and controls-related issues.

This is what you bring to us

  • Hands-on experience, technical coursework, certification, or training in industrial robotics, automation, controls, mechatronics, electrical technology, or a related technical field; a four-year degree is not required.
  • Experience working with and programming industrial robots; ABB experience is strongly preferred, with Universal Robots or other industrial/collaborative robotic platforms also considered.
  • Basic understanding of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment; Siemens PLC experience is preferred, while Allen-Bradley or comparable PLC experience is also acceptable.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and an understanding of how robots, PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and automation equipment communicate within an integrated manufacturing system.
  • Exposure to machine vision or inspection technology, preferably Keyence vision systems, cameras, sensors, or similar automated inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and equipment drawings is strongly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and learning ability, with the willingness to work directly on the manufacturing floor and develop expertise in Webasto-specific equipment, processes, and automation systems.
