The Role

The Maintenance Equipment Engineer will lead and support the delivery of equipment maintenance & repairs of breakdowns, bringing escalation of issues to the management team. Creation and adherence to maintenance schedules will be a key part of this role. The candidate will liaise & supervise any contractors/third party providers that through specialism or requirements attend the facility to undertake repairs/maintenance. The role will be a key deliverable in driving uptime/availability & a world class OEE %.
 
Responsibilities

• Physical ‘hands on’ repairs & maintenance on all key site services & production equipment.
• Fault Find on systems to include (but not limited to) – Reflow ovens, SMT Pick & Place machines, Conformal Coating systems, AOI & Inspection systems
• Control of contractors – PTW issue/engagement
• Develop & implement the maintenance schedule of works, utilising a tracking/CMMS system
• Build productive relationships with (site) local contractors & providers of Engineering services
• Raise purchase orders via procurement as required, ensuring cost effective measures & adherence to budget.
• Build critical spares lists for all equipment
• Support plant relocations & equipment installations (FM & SMT)

About you

Experience

• Experience in SMT/PCB manufacturing processes & associated equipment
• IOSHH or evidence of a robust safety background
• Experience of the maintenance of surface mount equipment. 
• Excellent Fault finding experience on Electrical, electronic, pneumatic & control systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for building relationships with colleagues/contractors 
• Demonstrable ability of controlling spend whilst achieving uptime requirements
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with customer facing exposure
• Robust IT skills & ability to learn new systems with pace
