Job Summary
As an LP Analyst, you will help make sure investor records for private funds are accurate. You will work closely with the Reconciliation team, and you will have mentors to guide you as you learn.
What You Will Do
- Compare LP capital account data from fund administrators and general partners against our internal records, and flag differences.
- Support daily and monthly reconciliation of capital calls, distributions, and capital account balances.
- Investigate differences in our reconciliation system. Ask mentors and experts for help when you need it.
- Check LP data against third-party and fund administrator sources.
- Track and report whether daily and monthly reconciliations were delivered on time.
- Build working relationships with data providers, fund administrators, and internal teams.
- Send clear questions and timely status updates to internal and external contacts.
- Learn our internal tools and processes for LP and fund reconciliation.
What You Will Learn
- How private equity, venture, and other limited partnership funds work, and how their data is reconciled.
- How to solve LP and fund discrepancies using Clearwater’s resources and your team’s expertise.
- How Clearwater’s mission (aggregate, reconcile, report) applies to LP and fund data.
- Our reconciliation tools and reports, from routine tasks to more complex ones.
- Completion of new hire certifications, then intermediate-level training.
How You Will Grow
- Year one is about learning. You will have mentors and clear processes to follow.
- You will handle simple and medium-difficulty questions on your own and get help on harder ones.
- You will be expected to learn from mistakes and not repeat them.
- You will manage your work against team productivity and quality goals.
- You will mostly work with fund administrators and data providers.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree (or graduating soon) in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization and teamwork skills.
- Solid math and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, and filters are a plus).
- Basic accounting or finance coursework. Knowledge of capital calls, distributions, or private equity is a plus but not required.
- Curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to ask for help and learn from feedback.
- Interest in building a long-term career at Clearwater.
