Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to resolve high-priority incidents through advanced troubleshooting, ensure SLA compliance, analyse system performance trends, and create mitigation measures by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Areas of responsibility

Triaging and resolution of tickets-Provide resolution to high priority incident (P2) tickets, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure timely closure.

SLA Monitoring-Ensure SLA compliance for assigned technology areas and ensure proactive escalation management.

Performance tuning and optimization-Analyse system performance data, coordinate findings on system behaviour, and support capacity planning initiatives to enhance overall system efficiency.

Perform system Improvements-Create mitigation measures to evaluate new tools or improvements by collaborating with technical teams.

Handling disaster recovery-Perform security assessments and recovery drills, and implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with established security standards.

Reporting and stakeholder engagement-Participate in weekly and monthly service review meetings, provide updates on performance and issues, and support stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and service alignment.

Team Management-Collaborate with team members to resolve open tickets and service requests.

Knowledge base and continuous learning Contribute to updating SOPs, knowledge articles and maintaining the knowledge repository for the purpose of future ticket resolution.

Role: Azure Network Engineer.

Location: Offshore.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design & Implementation:  Architect, design, and implement highly available and secure network solutions within Microsoft Azure, including but not limited to virtual networks (VNets), subnets, VM’s, RBAC Controls, Kubernetes, Databricks, Azure Data Factories, AI Instances and AI Models, Peering, Route Tables, NAT Gateways, NAT Firewalls and ExpressRoute.  Engage in developing client cloud and security strategies, vision-state architectures, roadmaps, and planning activities.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization:  Proactively identify and resolve networking issues in the cloud environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Provide timely updates to stakeholders during issue resolution.  Monitor system performance to ensure reliability and availability.  Implement and adhere to cloud-specific best practices and standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement:  Lead and participate in meetings with internal teams, vendors, and customers to discuss project requirements, design decisions, and progress updates. Use your verbal skills to articulate technical solutions clearly and persuasively.  Collaborate with software engineering teams to define infrastructure and deployment requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting:  Create comprehensive network design documentation and clear status reports, ensuring they are easy to understand for both technical teams and business leaders.  Write and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, etc

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Azure Networking Expertise:  Strong knowledge of Azure networking, peering, RBAC Controls, Azure AI + Machine Learning resources, Azure Analytics resources, Azure Compute resources, Azure Virtual Network, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Application Gateways, and ExpressRoute.
• Strong Verbal Communication:  Excellent ability to explain complex technical topics to a wide variety of audiences, from developers and IT teams to business executives and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership & Collaboration:  Proven experience in working effectively in cross-functional teams, leading discussions, and driving consensus on technical decisions.
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:  Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues in complex cloud environments.  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience:  3+ years of directly relevant systems engineering and architecture experience including requirements definition, architecture development, development of use cases and stories, and systems integration & test, cloud architecture, design, implementation, operations and automation in Azure, Terraform – all in an Agile environment.
